Bt Have Decided Not To Write The Necessary Drivers

BT have decided not to write the necessary drivers for Windows Vista as far as I am aware. So,Can NOT be used with a Windows Vista computer.

As BT have chosen to NOT update the drivers for this piece of equipment it puts me off buying any BT computer hardware in the future - it is likely to become obsolete if the computer OS is updated.

Easy To Install, Connect To The Network And Discon

Easy to install, connect to the network and disconnect from the network. I'm replacing mine because I want the security of an independent firewall. Therefore I do not recommend BT Voyager 105

I Have This Modem... And It Wants To Learn To Fly.

I have this modem... and it wants to learn to fly... well, out my window. It is, to say the least, rubbish. I have had loads of problems with my BT Voyager 105 modem disconnecting, and an error message comes up saying the cable is unplugged, but it is not unplugged. Just a waste of money!

Windows Users Should Have No Problems With The Bt

Windows users should have no problems with the BT Voyager 105 modem, but Linux users beware, as there is no driver support, see http://eciadsl.flashtux.org/ for some support. Also you will suffer high syncronisation errors and repeated line disconnections, which will serve no end of frustration! I strongly recommend investing in quality hardware Netgear DG834G for peace of mind.

I'm Not That Keen On The Bt Voyager, Because I Hav

I'm not that keen on the BT Voyager, because I have had numerous problems with it, and have had to uninstall and reinstall it countless times. I don't know if I am just unlucky, but it keeps saying that there is no modem present!!!

You should be able to download AOL 8.0 off the AOL website, but of coarse you have no online access. :(

Isn't there anyone who has a computer that can let you go round there and download the file onto a CD-R or something? If not, try going on a public computer and contacting AOL via email, asking them for the old 8.0 browser pack.

Yes, can't use Bt voyager 105 too. Not working with an old type window '98. Can aol send or post me an aol 8.0 for this type voyager

I am with Force 9 and they have given up trying, I have tried everything, new drivers, all combinations of any 2 filters from 4 with each of two cables and with each of two modems from the 2 packs sent in case it was a fault with the equipment.

After trying both modems on another computer everything was OK with both of them, but still would not stop training on my rig.

I kept getting either no modem, or training, and DSL light just kept flashing very erratically.

Force 9 have now just deducted cost of modem from package and left me to buy a Speedtouch 330 myself.

I can only assume that it is something to do with the power output on my USB ports as I have tried all 4 ports with the same result.

Tried direct from master socket with no extensions as well.

This may only show that the Voyager 105 is not a bad modem but the problem is with my equipment so I would not condemn the Voyager.

I've got AMD Athlon 2400+, XP, 512mb DDR and 120gb, and it works just fine. It's a real shame that it's still not working with you. What ISP are you with then?

rtstodd

I have been attempting to install BT Voyager 105 daily for 2 weeks with talk through help from ISP who provided it and have still not been able to get it to work on my rig.

I have a speedtouch 330 on loan and it works perfectly, I have tried the voyagers, 2 of them as a replacement was sent in case of fault, on other computer and it worked fine but will not stop training erratically on my AMD Athlon 1600+, Windows XP, 512 Gb memory, 80 GB hard drive machine.

Have tried absolutely everything, swapping cables, filters, modems, direct from master socket, but the voyager will not work.

The Bt Voyager 105 Is A Top Performing Usb Modem F

The BT Voyager 105 is a top performing USB modem for ADSL internet users. Not only is it compatible for ADSL ISP's, but it is also compatible with AOL (which is very select when it comes to things like modems).

It also has good stats. For example, I have a connection speed of 512kbps. Well, my Rx(downsteam) is 2272kbps (2.3mbps) and my Tx (upstream) is 288kbps (0.3mbps). It's only the BT Voyager 105 that can give such outstanding statistics for an USB ADSL modem!

All this for a very cheap price. On average, it comes to just £25.00, including VAT and a 1 year guarantee!

In defence of the Voyager 105, I too use one and it is a good modem, with good connection and transfer rate, which holds very steady.

kiyawhite

Of course AOL is choosy! They only reccomend BT Voyager modems, and only give support for 3 specific types of modem routers.

Addmitedly, though, the Voyager modems are great for internet access, especially when you have a 2mbps download speed on ADSL. It would be better to have a wider selection of routers to get support on from AOL, but I guess I can't complain since they do support routers of the Netgear range.

donalcorr

That's absolute rubbish that AOL are selective when it comes to anything, they are a poor provider with a rubbish technical backup, I spent 6 months proving this, and eventually they would switch off their help desks early when I started to ring them, as they could not answer my obvious questions. And all they could do is say the same old thing like what's your phone number, user name etc. They don't even keep a history of past problems. Some reference AOL are !!!!!!

I just wanted to note that I made a couple of mistakes in my review:

1.) The BT Voyager 105 USB ADSL Modem actually has a top speed of 2mbps, NOT 1MBPS.

2.) My Rx (UPSTREAM) and Tx (DOWNSTREAM) are-

>Rx=2272kbps (2.2mbps)

>Tx=288bbps (0.28mbps)

Bt Voyager 105 - This Is The Long-awaited Replacem

BT Voyager 105 - This is the long-awaited replacement for the BT Voyager 100 which is no longer available.

To quote BT "The BT Voyager 105 uses the next generation USB modem chips to deliver a more reliable user experience. The look and feel is very similar to the BT Voyager 100."

Make of that what you will.

It really is a little gem.

Very fast, very reliable and free if you order AOL Broadband.

There are 3 LED's on the modem which tell you exactly what it is doing. There is also an on-screen display which shows you when your computer is receiving or sending data.

Connection and installation is really simple and trouble-free.

I am really impressed.

I fully agree with you. The modem is snazzy, reliable and actually has a top speed of 2mbps!
