Philips MMS321

I love these speakers. I wanted to reduce clutter on my desk and decided I really didn't need a 5.1 or even a 2.1 system in the office. These speakers are spectacular. They even manage to churn out some heavy "Drum and Bass" without distortion - I'm bumping some Black Sun Empire and Telemetrik as we speak. How they are able to manage reproducing this particular music is beyond me, I just know it works. Of course you won't get Earth shattering bass, but their dynamic range is truly remarkable for their size. No joke, just enjoy.

I really like these speakers. They sound great and can get pretty loud. At first I was skeptical because of the price. I was also concerned that they may not work with my mac but everything turned out great! :) Now only if they were white.... maybe I'll just upgrade to one of the new shiny silver macs :)

Excellent quality. Amazing sound for just a 2.0 system. This set is much better than my JBL Pro series desktop speakers. Power supply is quite large and bulky but you do have enough wiring to hide somewhere. However well recommend Philips MMS321.

My Phillips MMS321 system is the replacement for a 2.1 system which I accidentally fried the circuitry of when a spark jumped from my finger to the control unit while adjusting the volume and apparently took out the pre-amp leaving only the sub-woofer functioning. Except for the belly blasting bellows-like displacement of the air by the replaced 2.1 system's sub-woofer the full-spectrum range of this 2.0 system is equally good. The maximum volume is good for personal use but will not be as loud as a typical stereo which you might use for entertaining guests. I find that the cross-over from bass to midrange is seamless and is actually superior to the replaced 2.1 system which had a gap in the frequency response at the cross-over frequencies.

I have listened to 'The Bourne Ultimatum' on DVD, Miles Davis and other jazz CD's, various ripped religious music files ranging from an antique church organ to Byzantine chants to a full symphony orchestra as well as live streaming WQXR classical music internet radio on this system and it is only slightly less capable than a top end system to my ears. I could not be more satisfied.

2.1 sound from 2.0 speakers, worth the price!

Philips MMS321 are excellent speakers.

The Philips MMS321 are great desk top speakers, I have put them with our new Dell Dimension and I am very pleased with the results, they are well built and deliver great sound. They do not have a sepearte subwoofer, but you wouldn't know as the built in bass rads do the job perfectly. A bit pricy, but you do get a genuine 40w RMS.
