The Logitech Desktop Ex 100 Wireless Keyboard And
The Logitech Desktop Ex 100 wireless keyboard and mouse.
Having taken the plunge and bought a Plasma TV I thought its about time I used it to its full extent. So I plumbed in a little used netbook and fired up windows xp.
As its tucked away under the TV stand its going to be hard to use it so obviously I needed a wireless keyboard and mouse .
After checking around it seemed the Logitech Desktop ex 100 seemed the best choice. I paid £19.99 for it at Argos.
Packaging was good, not too much not too little. Batteries included for the mouse and keyboard.
The keyboards build was not sturdy but not flimsy either. Keys had a firm and secure use, with a positive 'click'.The optical mouse was a little chunky but did have a strong positive click on both left and right buttons. It had a central scroll wheel too.
Along with the keyboard and mouse was the sender unit that plugs in via usb to the computer. This looked very sleek sitting under the TV about 1 and a half meters from the keyboard. Following instruction to the letter I set up this new toy to satisfy my geek lust. The installation software comes on a cd rom and once it was installed the problems started. Keyboard...I had to hit a key several times to get it to show on screen."The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog" test failed miserably . The quick becomming tttttick and the rest being all jumbled up.Remember I am only 4 feet away on the same plain as the wireless sender unit.
The Mouse...very frustrating to use. Left click and count to 15 and the action was engaged, right click and nothing happened. I checked the logitech website and did as asked and re installed the software but same result. Two hours gone.
In my opinion the Logitech Desktop Ex 100 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse will be a great Christmas present for someone you do not like.
