Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2

Wow! I ordered a Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 from aria yesteray lunchtime and it arrived this morning - less than 22 hours delivery time! Nice one Aria!! Excellent price too, £93 inc VAT and delivery charge!

Please note - I got the ZS model of the Audigy 2

Installation was a breeze, takes up 1x 5"1/4 drive bay for the panel and a standard PCI for the card itself, some great software included with the pack including 2 full games!

The card was up and running in minutes after booting into Windows and I am very impressed - I've never had a soundcard - always just used the onboard sound from the motherboard. I have noticed an increase of 20fps in Halflife2 and FarCry which is AWESOME!!!!

I've used it for recording today - guitar and vocals and so far so good, low latency and everyething sounds great!

Manual isn't included though but there is one on the disc so it's not all bad!

I read some reviews about the Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 sound card that said it started making popping and clicking sounds after a while, but after five months I haven't had any such problems. the sound quality is great, especially if coupled with high quality speakers (I have a THX-certified set). The surround sound works very well, and it comes with good games (mine came with Soldier of Fortune 2 and Hitman 2). It has just about every port a normal user would need, and it looks great for cases with windows. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants great everything and is willing to pay a somewhat high price for it.
