Foxconn/WinFast NF4K*AC

Internal sound card died after about 9 months, after about a year the motherboard developed Constant Video Problems that eventually lead to my graphics card not being recognized and having no visuals at the age of 2, which now warrent my computer useless... except for the files being accessed on my network.

The manual is vague, watch out for cheap board. probably from a place like compact or Dell. If it does not have all of the optional pins, jumpers, you will never figure it out. There is quite a difference between k7s741m and the k7s741mg/k7s741gxmg. The 1st one is junk. The other one I do not know.

For the price this Foxconn/WinFast board has good functionility and is relatively easy to install. The aux power connector is of the same type that plugs into a hard drive but it is at the back corner of the motherboard farthest away from ther power unit. A power extension lead may be required. In any case this makes for rather awkward wiring. The floppy cable connector is also on the left side of the board which means the floppy drive cable could foul the fan on the Nforce chip uless tied back. The manual for this motherboard is on CDROM so if you do not have a PC you will not be able to install front panel usb and audio until the machine is running and you can read the manaual. A glossy sheet showing the motherboard layout is included but does not show jumper or connector settings. This is therefore not a board for beginners but anybody with some experience will have very little trouble installing this board.
