ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus

I love this motherboard, I used it to build a pc 2 days ago. My only issue with it is the lack of out the box q9550 support. I hadnt built a pc for about 10 years and imagined construction would all go swimmingly. I was wrong. I had to borrow my mums 1.8ghz core2 duo cpu, pop it into my pc, and then install windows. When windows was installed I had to go online to find the latest version of asusupdate(the version included with the motherboard on a cd didnt work!) then update the bios so it would work with my q9550 cpu.

Its a good thing that Im vaguely familiar with the ins and outs of computing, or Id have been screwed. It wouldnt have been so bad if the version of asusupdate included with the 'board would have worked with it, but it didnt.

The back of the board's box clearly states that it works with all quad CPUs. It does but not until one has updated the bios. I doubt many people know how to update the motherboard's bios, or have access to a slower cpu to borrow to use whilst updating the bios.

Its a great 'board but could have ben more user friendly though for me.
