Asus K8v-vm Motherboard Is A Good Product, Conside
ASUS K8V-VM Motherboard is a good product, considering the low amount of money that I paid for it: 48.00 usd. And it does everything that one expects from a mobo. But it was not meant for a super user or an enthusiast. It is a very basic board. It has two PCI-E expansion slots. One of them is a 16X so I was able to install a brand new video card Geforce 8400GS. The location of some jumpers is hidden and you have to disconnect everything else in order to have access to them. For example, the Clear CMOS jumper is very near to the second PCI slot. If you have a large card installed in it, you have to remove it first before you can access the jumper. Also, you cannot over clock this board, according to what I see in the BIOS. Furthermore, there is no "mem clock" setting on the BIOS they made on 11/09/2006. Therefore, you cannot change the speed of the memory. I have installed 2 DIMM's of Corsair PC400. It is running at 333 mhz and have no way in the BIOS to change it to 400 mhz.
