I Was Apprehensive About Buying This Sony Walkman
I was apprehensive about buying this Sony Walkman MP3 player after reading the complaints about the SonicStage software, but I took a chance because the 2GB version is now on offer for under £50. I've only had it for 3 days, but my concerns seem to be totally unfounded. It's great, and I have not found any problems with the SonicStage software at all. I must admit I followed another reviewer's tip of downloading the latest version (4.2) of SonicStage free from the Sony website, and have not bothered with the 3.4 version which was supplied with the player. Admittedly all tracks have to be imported into SonicStage first, rather than dragging and dropping directly into the MP3 player, but this is no hassle at all. I'm also puzzled about comments about the slowness of file transfer, as I've been importing 20track CDs into SonicStage in about 2 minutes per CD, and transfering them to the Sony player in about 15 seconds (and I've been using the larger MP3 format rather than the default ATRAC format). Overall, I rate the Sony Walkman as a great product which is now available at a great price, and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
