I bought the Yamaha RX-V630RDS about a year ago, and after setting it up I was a little disapionted, but after a few days of "warming up" it sounded great. I really think Dolby Pro Logic II is close to Dolby Digital surround that it is worth paying that little bit extra for. The instruction book while detailed enough could be a little less complicated to follow. In stereo for music listening is pretty good and the extra surround modes i.e. Rock concert, jazz club etc. do add an enjoyable expierence. I have no hesitation in recommending this amp to anyone.
