Sennheiser HD 200

These headphones are worth every dollar of a 15 year old's school holiday job when I got these. Twelve years later these things still rock and they have had A LOT of use.

The Good: They produce deep bass, crisp trebble and everything in between. Although they sound better off a good amp they are still sensitive enough to be powered on even my cellphone (nokia N95). I personally haven't listened to another headphone that sounds any better than these. I can wear these all day, the headband isn't too tight but they still hold on great. The closed design is good for keeping out all the nasty noises when sanding down the house or mowing the lawn. The cord plugs into the left can with a 2.5mm plug. You can make yourself a short cord and have a long cord too.

The Bad: They get all sweaty on your ears, it's worth it though. The hinges creak a little, lube helps. The cord sometimes gets a bad connection but a little contact cleaner helps. Years of sweat ruins the foam behind the cushions. Without it they sound like a tinny car radio. I cut out new stuff from some electronics packaging and what a difference! The speaker drivers are on little plugs internally. I had to re-solder both drivers and connectors in the first two years which was disapointing. Also they developed low Hz rattles caused by the voice coil leads touching on the back of the cones when they were about one year old. I carefully adjusted these somehow about ten years ago and they have been sweet ever since. Also check for little hairs which can get stuck in the speakers and cause rattles.

Bottom line: Awesome sound per dollar. Build quality sucks, with a little maintenance they go forever though.

To put it in a nut shell... I have had a pair of these Sennheiser HD 200 for 9 1/2 years..simply perfect.. I have only had to replace the detachable cable once! which was a tiny price.. I am now considering a replacement as my level of professional work will allow me to purchase a newer, more advanced model for a slightly higher price.. only hope on that will be is costing more guaranteed a better product.. oh, and i fancied a change, after nearly a decade of faithful service I think its time for the bigger brother..

Sennheiser HD 200 have a cool design, light, fits perfecty on head and ears.

Again, the sound is unbeliavable. I would have bought it to be honest even if the price would have been double. Don't hesitate! Cheers.

The Sennheiser HD 200 are comfortable, durable and good quite sound quality.

Absolutely fantastic. I would suggest the Sennhiser HD 200 to anyone. Another great product from my favourite sound company. The Headphones sit beautifully on the head. The frequency is brilliant. When listening in to a tv program I could the noises of birds twittering, which the human ear and most other headphones couldn't hear. Sound quality is fantastic. I can hear the feedback before the audience can AND GET RID OF IT.

This is a great set of headphones that gives you great sound. I've had them for 3 years now and I use them a lot. I had to change the cord after 2 years but apart from that the headphones have worked perfectly. They are highly recommendable - You'll love them!!

The Sennheiser HD 200 needs more bass in my opinion, but great alround sound and comforbility.
