Cool So I Found Place Where Can I Write Review. I

Cool so I found place where can I write review. I am beginner DJ although many of my friends are playing for years. The vast of them own Technics MKII or MK5. I have my Stanton STR8-150s for 6 months now. Well they still work :) The features are better then the SL1210s. I like the strong engine which starts/stops in no time and reacts to the mixing faster so if you make some mistakes you can fix them during mix and the audience probably won't notice mistakes you did since the changes are immediate. I also like the grounding switch so I don't have to struggle with grounding on mixer.

On the only pub party where I took my gear they spilled really desk-incompatible liquid over my Stantons - the sticky strawberry juice. It was everywhere. I didn't know how they managed it since I wasn't there when it happened. I just cleaned the potentiometers of pitch sliders (I hope it is like this in english :) and the surface of desk. Then I left it for 2 days in the room to get dry. Afterwards they worked like new so this is a good point even though they smelled like strawberies and I also didn't like the fact that I wasn't able to disassemble the desks - just being able to clean the surface. Well, probably they engineered them in a way that it wasn't neccessary or desirable to open them.

The other thing I don't like is the fact that the protective film above labels on buttons is wearing out already after 6 months of normal use!!! It looks quite ugly. Common this is quite an expensive toy, it should last longer.

I don't know if I would still prefer buying them to SL1210s because of this fact - I am worried that one day they will just stop working because the materials and build quality is not as high as the quality of Technics. I would recommend to DJs out there to stick with Technics for a while and wait until Stanton tries one more time. STR8-150s are cool to play at home, they have a lot of torque what most of the DJs like, they have good connectivity options, they are heavy so they are quite shake-proof, they come with quite a nice cartridges, they are resistant to party accidents but still they are just aging quite quickly, especially visually (scratched out labels, surface tends to scratches). Mechanically it still works fine after 6 months in my case. Probably there is even more to talk about but I guess after reading this you are even more uncertain about the STR then before so I will stop here.

I Stanton Str8-150 You Take The Platter Off A Tech

I Stanton STR8-150 you take the platter off a technics and the tone arm of a vestax what do you get?

The answer is somthing like this, an incredible achievemnt, for the vestax lovers theres a propper straighttone arm that will hold most grooves and for the technics puritians there a not too gentle not to tuff platter when technics made the mk 3,4,5,6 and so on, this is really what they should have made all along, a decent pitch range, a soild tone arm and a good platter.

While no one could say that the platter is exactly like a technics platter or the tone arm holds quite as well as a vestax, most people agree that it has a better tone arm than a technics and a kinder platter than a vestax which sometimes feels like its gonna take your hand clean out the socket when you pull back.

Stanton only need to tweak this turntable a little and it will be the ultimate, for now its one of the 3 best decks on the market, not perhaps as renown as the vestax or technics but when you next go to buy a pair of proffesional dj turntables you would do well to consider going stanton.

I Bought These Turntables About A Month Ago Now An

I bought these turntables about a month ago now and am still not bored of them. I suppose when you buy a sub £300 set of turntables you tend to get bored of them, but at £730 for the pair of them I don't think I could even contemplate getting bored. It's a lot of money for turntables but they are well worth it. The same price as a set of Technics SL1210's, but with loads more features. Removable target lights, standard blue LED's, reverse function (works almost instantly) and it comes with a set of Stanton HP-680 cartridges as standard. I could talk all day about these things they truly are amazing. Solid steel construction (Unlike Technics which use lead to put the weight in them). OK I'll stop, but if you have the money and want a set of no-nonsense turntables, these are the ones for you :-)

Quality decks, 1210 eaters.

After having a set of Gemini PT1000's as my first deck (great beginner deck) 3 sets of 1210's at this stage and 2 sets of Vestax i can safely say these are the best decks on the market.

You will always have the 1210 lovers (me being one) but you can't stay stuck back 12yrs ago. The STR8-150's. are so solid and a lot heavier than a technics deck, very rarely will something skip. The record would have to be bad.

Apart from the very fast start stop time i find the pitch range and response to be unbelievable and very tight. There is no need to lay a finger on the record once you drop it on the deck.

The only thing i will say, if you bring your decks around a lot to parties and gigs these bad boys are heavy.

If your getting Turntables, get these. You will not be let down ;o)
