Heats okay but marks so easily and its so hard to clean. Used hob and 2 other brands but it is impossible to get clean had indesit previous cheaper but much superiorand AEG which was also better. Only used this for a month and its looking like its been used for a decade. Unable to recommend this product.

“Mains powered. Works perfectly”

★★★★★

written by Zcc2023 on 16/05/2023

We bought this from howdens as part of our kitchen, didn't give it much thought, when we came to install I checked reviews online and was gutted to read they were mostly very bad.... We installed it anyway and it has been great. Boils a pan of cold water in 1 min 20 seconds. I have used 3 it off the 4 hobs at the same time Easy to operate, and quick to cook after you take the pan off. Not sure why so many bad reviews (maybe there's a plug and play option, which perhaps might not be so good?? .... but ours is mains wired and no problems with it at all). Been using it for about 2 months now.

“Absolute piece of junk ”

★★☆☆☆

written by clSilva9 on 27/03/2023

Howden really need to disassociate themselves from lamona appliances bad for the reputation and definitely not made to last as long as you would expect repaired once after15 months and gone again just out of guarantee, and on complaint, advice given not worth repairing as cheaper to buy a new one. ????

“Do not bother ”

written by Richcookng on 14/12/2022

Terrible, the controls have a mind of their own, the thing turns off halfway through cooking and turn up when I expect it to be off. Had many induction hobs and always found easy to use and a great product but this one is at the bottom of the pile

“Useless for cooking - and bad for one's blood pressure!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 04/09/2022

I too agreed to have this hob in a hurry! - OH that I'd read the reviews first. It is just about OK for using one zone, - but forget about using two! If you are boiling with one ring, and want to make the gravy / boil veg, the first ring switches off until the second one gets up to heat - takes AGES - unless you switch the first ring off completely. It will put you off cooking at all - unless you are writing a book about one ring cooking. I would like to have known that it is 'one ring' cooking beforehand. It was my first induction hob - but didn't put me off - friends can use all the zones on theirs! Had it ripped out and a Samsung hob put in - utter, utter, bliss - fast as gas and SO responsive.

“Absolutely terrible-Avoid Avoid Avoid!!”

I bought this quickly as the one I had originally ordered wasn’t suitable. I wish I had read the reviews because a one star rating is too generous- it is possibly the worst product I have ever bought and if I could give it a negative rating I would! You can only use one hob zone at a time so cooking even something like Bolognese takes twice the amount of time as you have to cook both the bolognese and the pasta at separate times. Even on a low temperature, the zones click between each other and intermittently share the heat- absolutely ridiculous! You may as well just have one hob zone as that is all you can use at once! Who ever designed this clearly doesn’t cook family meals. An absolute shambles of a product unless you actually want to cook all of your food at separate times- because we all have time to do that don’t we!!

Like you, I should have read the reviews before purchasing this Lamona cooktop. This is the worst product I have had. I have had the hob repaired twice, but the flexible cooking zone still does not work. I have to buy another one of course not a lamona.

“Don't buy - absolutely useless”

★☆☆☆☆

written by GiDa on 24/10/2020

This hob is a total waste of money. It is designed to work from a 13amp plug which means you cannot use all elements at once, unless they are on a low setting. If you are using two elements on a high setting and then turn on a third element the first two will reduce their power output down to level 6. To use Howdens words "best suits those who have a more leisurely approach to making family meals" - i.e. if you can spare 6 hours to cook your evening meal, then this is the hob for you. I would give this hob a negative 5* if I could and would advise that you avoid it at all costs!!!! PS - it also failed and had to have all internal electronic pieces replaced within the first year.

Like you, I should have read the reviews before purchasing this Lamona cooktop. This is the worst product I have had. I have had the hob repaired twice, but the flexible cooking zone still does not work. Call the engineer to repair it again, it's a waste of time. I have to replace it by another brand.

“Waste of money”

Same as most people. If you are using one hob it's fine, although I agree levels 1 - 6 barely do anything. Use anymore than that and you have problems. Every time I try using 3 hobs it switches off. Engineer came out said it's the pans. Garbage use pans every day and they work (just one at a time)

“Avoid Like the Plague”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 17/05/2020

Installed in October 2019. there are 4 heating zones with settings 1-9. 1 through to 6 are not enough to boil and 7 through to 9 will boil over. 6 won't even simmer unless you keep the lid on. The right front zone works for all induction pans. The left front only works for 2 of my 4 pans and none of my inducion frying pans. The back zones are the same but the other way round. Sometime you have to keep your fing on the on/off button for ages to bring them into life. There's a loud clicking when the pans that don't work sit on the relevant zones and the digital settings flash. In conclusion, where other people sing the praises of their induction hobs, this is utter rubbish. You will want rid of it as soon as possible for a decent one by another make. I did have an engineer out after a month who tested one pan and one zone and told me it weas working perfectly. Since then Howdens have been in lockdown. I'll contact them again but I suspect I'll just kiss goodbye top my losses and buy a decent one.

An absolute nightmare. Terrible please don’t buy it . Pure stress when you cooking. Had for over one year already stopped working for over two weeks. Howdens should stop selling that rubbish.

Perfect, easy to clean, super responsive to temp setting changes

Only niggle is some things when put on the surface (when its all switched off) trigger alarms, as it thinks there is a cooking pot on there without settings

No idea what the above review is about, we couldn't be happier - it's just a rebadged product of an established manufacturer

“Complete waste of money”

★☆☆☆☆

written by NeilB01 on 29/07/2019

Ours has never worked well since installation. Its OK as a single hob but if I try and cook on more than one ring the power goes and it takes forever to heat anything up. I have contacted engineer at Howdens and they inform me these are just sold for convenience of fitting and not for ease of use.

“Broken”

written by Purcellsx283 on 22/03/2016

Lasted just until it's guarantee ran out. Offered an engineer for about 200 quid in total. Cheaper to buy a new one. Also no info in the user manual on F error codes. This is a piece of junk. Do not buy stuff with Lamona written on it. They are just trying to trick you for more money.

“don't buy this product from Howdens”

★☆☆☆☆

written by McElroy383 on 11/06/2014

I was sceptical from the start as I'd not seen any favourable reviews on their other appliances. I had upgraded all the other electrical items to Bosche but thought as the hob was the cheapest I'd give it a chance. The first hob was fitted 6 months, after 3 months it went with a bang,I was without a hob for 3 weeks while I waited for an engineer to first check it was broken, and then for a complete new unit to be installed. The 2nd replacement hob has this week gone yet again with a bang. The service dept said I should have received a new invoice, and warranty and am now waiting for them to sort it all out, I've asked to upgrade to Bosche as I have no confidence in their product.

my 2 year old Lamona induction hob from Howdens packed up on Bank Holiday Monday lunchtime, with the family to cook for! I now find its out of warranty by 3 months and I have to pay six installments of £23.20 over six months to get an engineer to come out. You have no choice but to sign p to this payment system. If I need a new hob this insurance will pay for a new one, but not delivery or installation! I cant believe daylight robbery still exists. Im going to buy a new hob from somewhere else, like John Lewis!

I would like some advice on the lamona induction hob. Does it have a fault on its life span? How much would a service cost. Many thanks
