Cooker only about four years old. The oven door handle fell off after only a year, and was impossible to put back; the enamel is rusting round the glass and looks awful and the whole cooker finally passed away with a smell of burning rubber a couple of weeks ago. Very expensive mistake.

so muchnot long after purchasing this oven the plastic silver enamel came off the knobs. contacted shop who told me to contact manufacturer, they told me knobs are not covered on the warranty and I would have to buy new ones at a ridiculous price. few months later the element bars on the grill started to sag

Only had this oven a couple of weeks when the silver coating on the knob's started to peel away.. Contacted the supplier who informed me fixtures and fittings on the appliance are not covered in the warranty.. Gashed my fingers several times.. If you peel the silver coating it is a nasty cheap white plastic behind the coating.. No a cheap oven and definitely wouldn't buy it again..

I've had my cooker for 3 yrs so far the heating element has been replaced after only 1yr.im currently on my 3rd fan motor.the last broke after less than 2 months.grill is in the top oven, this is useless as you turn on the top oven and preheat.pop in the food,it constantly reheats the top oven so the grill comes on and burns the top of your food! THE most stupid design.feel totally ripped off and hate the whole thing.

I say I am more lucky than most other owners because I bought the cooker secondhand as a stop gap measure when our old cooker died thus saving £300. It is only two years old and i am just amazed at how badly made this cooker is, not only is it poor quality materials but the finish is poor and it must have been designed after a particularly good night at the pub if it was designed at all. Who could put a towel rail where it obscures the controls so you can't tell what the settings are and even if the rail wasn't there the pathetic bit of paint has come off the knobs so it's quesswork anyway. The cooker is not enamelled but painted and the paint is lifting and giving a crinkle finish where it has not already fallen off. The top oven grill is really awful as it either burns or gently warms and who the hell designed the grill pan handle? My god it's a classic, you can't put it on when the pan is on a flat surface and as soon as you put it down it falls off so you need an oven glove ready at all times. I have only given this one star as there were no zeros or negatives offered but it is travesty to rate it that high. Should you buy one? Well I feel ripped off having paid £60 pounds for it so make your own mind up. As they say act in haste repent at leisure. PS unless you are deaf you need ear defenders with the oven on and yes I really hate it and my wife is giving me grief for buying it.

I Bought this cooker just under 3 years ago as it had good reviews on the retailers website and looked sturdy and attractive. Thats where any positive comments end I'm afraid. The cooker has been replaced once and I have since had to have the top hob completely replaced as itwas collapsing in on itself. It has had no less than 4 new oven elements and tonight, I have noticed that the outer edge of the hob area has rusted and looks broken and ready to collapse in on it self. On complaining, I'm told this is cosmetic and down to wear and tear. Thisheap of junk replaced a 15 year old Creda that was still immaculate and that I gave away! Steer clear of this cooker and anything made by this and associated brands and save yourself the £475 this dangerous piece of equipment cost me.

A very attractive sturdy-looking cooker, and that's where the complements end. We've had this article in our re-designed kitchen now for four months, it's had a new thermostat which wasn't needed but the mechanic must have thought we'd be impressed by him fitting it. The top oven is still a nightmare, has it come on? will it stay on? have I made sure that the grill-pan handle is fixed O.K.? Why does it only toast half of each slice then I need to turn the bread thro' 180 degrees? I shouldn't need to bend down to look into the thing to see if it's lit. I can go on and on about inconsistent temperature settings etc. How I wish I'd read these reports on here before lashing out £450 on what looked perfect but is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

Looked great when we first had it, dreadful build quality, paint lifting and the lights have dropped out of the mounting spaces and now the fan oven has stopped working after 3 years light use. Very disappointed as it replaced a 30year old Belling that looked as good as the day it bought.

Bought this cooker 3 years ago, top oven is pathetic takes too long to come up to heat required. The build quality is terrible, the oven rack supports are cheap and tacky, the handle on the grill pan is a cheap dangerous design, the gloss black finish on the hotplate surround is now crackle finish, use of cheap products again to blame. I was warned off this cooker by a friend in the sheet metal fabrication industry, but my wife went ahead with the buy, never again would I buy from leisure.

Bought this cooker 5 months ago. Because it looks impressive and sturdy assumed it would be. How wrong could I be. The top 'oven' is an absolute nightmare. It doubles up as a grill except you can't select whether you want the grill OR oven. If using it as an oven and you open the door to check the food it automatically converts to grill mode and begins to grill the food you want roasted! This oven/grill is virtually impossible to use (I no longer use it) because even in grill mode the cooking is very uneven - it seems to burn everything at the outer edges. The shelves in both ovens are, in my opinion, dangerous because they slide out too easily and when I attempted to remove a baking tray which brought the shelf with it and I attempted to slide everything back the whole lot ended up at the back of the oven. The main oven is, as someone else noted, more of a steam oven and roasting is almost impossible at higher temperatures. Also one of the first things I noticed when it arrived was that it doesn't sit on a substantial enough plinth and so is less than an inch from the floor causing toes to be stubbed every time the door is opened (also extreme bending to see into the oven) and the door will not stay open unless W I D E open - I've checked that the cooker is on a level base. All in all I wouldn't recommend this cooker even at £50 and I intend to try to sell it asap. There are serious and I believe dangerous design faults with this product and needs to be recalled

I have the black version of the Leisure Gourmet Classic cooker and it looks great BUT it really lacks in quality. The PROS The hobs heat up quickly and cook well. The CONS Can you believe the knobs are covered in TIN FOIL which just puckers up and needs replacing about every six months. This is because the top oven has no cooling fan like other cookers and the area around the knobs becomes so hot it could take your skin off. I reported this and was told it was known but was within allowable tolerances but you can't touch the knobs when you have the grill on. The main oven gets so much steam inside that roasting is impossible as it steams everything. Haven't had a good roast dinner since having the cooker. Water pours out on to the floor when you open the oven door. Cleaning around the knobs is almost impossible as you can't remove them and as it's black it always looks grubby. Levelling is difficult as there isn't enough tolerance on the adjustable feet. The ceramic hob marks much more easily than all the previous cookers I have had. It looks great but it is quite cheap and nasty.

The only thing that is likeable, about this cooker is that it looks good as an ornament for your kitchen. Within three months of buying this cooker it became dangerous as hot steam came out of the top vent so much that it tarnished the paint work. I also had to be careful when I was cooking practical anything as it did not cook the food correctly. After complaining for five months I got a replacement and it also was designed badly. The back panel was not manufactured correctly. Look at the back of the cooker and it shouldn't be bent and have screws missing. I got a third replacement which is a Hotpoint and it is arriving soon.
