“Shoddy work and no communication”

Once upon a time they might have had a decent reputation but they are seriously shoddy now. We had windows and a front door fitted in April 2017 they finished the job in December 2107. We have a 30 year old house with standard fitting everything and still they couldn't get it right. They started by arriving to do the fitting without the front door and with half the window pieces missing. We didn't get the door for another couple of weeks and not without chasing, we then had a black front door with a white window sill for months as they had forgotten it. The fitters caused all sorts of damage, mostly small but some of it irreparable (a chunk out of a wardrobe door) plaster, paint and wallpaper damaged in most rooms. We had a catalog of snags that they had to put right, of which we had to contact them continuously as their communication is zero. The staff are lovely and I feel terribly sorry for them but there is no system for dealing with problems and their management team right to the very top are not interested. We then tried to claim compensation for the damage caused and a new wardrobe and was told, it is a new company as Zenith went into administration so it is nothing to do with them although they are trading under the same name. They did finally sort the final few snags out, we still have to put right the damage they caused and have had no recompense to pay for it and not even a sorry. Just to add insult to injury they tell us we have no warranty either as that's with the old Zenith not the new one. When you spend that sort of money to transform the look of your house you want to be able to stand back and go "wow, look at that" at no point have we been able to do that as it took 9 months to actually finish and we were just pleased to have the nightmare over. The new management team don't give a damn, they accept responsibility for nothing.
