Like everyone else. Initial window and door installation was excellent. Not the cheapest company, but was offered a 10 year warranty, UNTIL things started to go wrong. The after sales care is absolutely disgusting. No replies from emails. Staff dealing with our complaint just leaving. For over a year we have been trying to move forward with LDG. Our initial complaint that the door has faded. Apparently I have caused this by washing it with a mild detergent solution half a fozen times. The paint has started peeling off on the inside. Door leaks. Apparently none of this was considered by the manufacturer to warrant a replacement. It was pointed out by a spray company that it was pointless re spraying as the actual front (composite) door is bowed. Again contacted LDG and the reason that the door will not be replaced actually made me laugh - it is not bowed enough ????. So to come down one morning to the door wide open and my house freezing. I was particularly not amused at this latest change of events as I have 3 dogs. I advise people to shop around and save your money. A designated complaints department should be implemented as a matter or urgency. The last contact I had with LDG was in September when they stated that they would contact the manufacturers on 2nd Oct. Emailed beginning of Dec and once again no reply i have on numerous occasions requested CEO email or contact details, I was completely stone walled. I am now shopping around for a new front door. I am just so relieved that we didn’t employ them to build an orangey.

“A disgrace to the building profession!”

Lancashire Double Glazing is possibly the worst company we have ever dealt with. Four years ago they began work on an extension to our property and we are still sorting out the mess they left behind. Over a period of 18 months they returned more than 20 times to the leaking roof until we decided we had had enough and (successfully) sued them in court for breach of contract. They failed to co-operate with the directions of the court and even failed to turn up for the hearing. Despite what was promised in their fancy brochure and sales patter, we witnessed appalling examples of their workmanship, found their “project management” chaotic, and attitude of the management disgraceful.

“The best”

This review is long overdue! We needed a new front door. Process from start to finish was very efficient. The salesman, measurer, fitter, contact from the office was second to none. We were informed every step of the way by text or phone call. There was no problem when we had to re-arrange the fitting date. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend LDG

LDG have just finished a large porch on the front of our house in lytham , from start to finish everything has gone so smoothly. They applied for planning etc for us and apart from paying on time we havnt had to do anything . They turned up everyday they said and left the house spotless each night. We are so happy with the finished job

Big thank you to all at LDG. From start to finish the whole team have been amazing every step of the way. I have had all new windows and a conservatory and I couldn’t be happier. Kept in the loop all the way through the process and after gain three other quotes LDG was 100% the best value. Will be using again as well as recommending to others. Thanks again.

“Fab after service more work ordered ”

I’ve had work done before by Lancashire Double Glazing, I rang them on Monday as I had a tweak that needed doing to my door - amazing after service care engineer came and sorted the problem and now it’s sorted, I have never known an after care service like this amazing - so much so I’ve decided to replace my existing LDG French doors to Bi fold doors and replaced an old window especially to help with the energy cost to my household - thank you LDG for your service and especially the after sales service you have been brilliant highly recommended - great service as always

“Poor quality installation Preston ”

Lancashire double glazing sell the dream but deliver a nightmare. I cannot recommend LDG, you’ll pay more and receive an inferior product fitted to a low standard. Please stay away from this company. Despite all the promises they simply aren’t equipped to deliver. This is due to poor comms with us and between each other. Except for when payment is considered to be due.

I would not recommend this firm The workmanship was horrendous along with problems with the product. The company had to come back four times to fix a long list of problems at my insistence. The issues were: damaged window frames, damage to our own window sills on installation, cat flap fitted incorrectly .

“Very poor service”

Ordered 2 composite doors….Salesman never turned up for first appointment and that should have started ringing alarm bells….second appointment he turned up 2 hours late and still I placed the order….after waiting for 10 weeks I am now told I will have to wait at least another 6 weeks…..I wish I had never bothered. Can’t get my money back….I wish I had gone with the first quote I got from a rival company which was a little more expensive but they are more reliable

“Terrible After Service”

I REALLY tried to find someone local but ended up resulting to searching for a national company as i needed my doors/ windows replacing. Booking an appointment was no problem, sales guy turned up and measured it all up and took my requirements. Comms back and fourth was fast (as usual when someone is trying to sell you something). Had someone come back around to measure up and told me that i would not be able to use the same locks (where as the sales man said i could). Took all details. Waited some time for an appointment to get it installed, the installer was prompt and did the work fast. As soon as the work was completed they jump on you, asking for payment and any alterations need to be logged via their web site. Logged several jobs over their web site, NO reference number and calling through is extremely hard. Even when you do you get 0 log reference number and no call back. Doors were extremely stiff to lock. Doors were not level Door vents had 2 - 3mm gaps so closed vents let air in all around. ... Logged many calls and i have had four call outs including a conversation with management. Management said that when the doors are cut there is a 5mm margin of error which is classed as acceptable. This means that my doors not level is acceptable. The vents i were promised to try other vents to see if they would stay flush with the door and not leave gaps. The SAME engineer who came out said that the doors were not finished correctly and took the vents, clips all to bits and was cutting away. He aligned the doors (which the manager said was not possible) and said the vents are flexing away from the door. Other engineers at the firm suggested using silicone to fill in the gaps. I mentioned i did not want this as its a bodge job. The engineer even said that the vents should not be doing what they are doing and that there should not be a gap. After more calls and logs i received an email saying that i will need to live with it. now i have a set of doors with vents that have 2mm gaps around letting in a draft. I did have them quote up doing my entire porch, front door and internal door but now i think i will take a pass. I cannot believe there is such a large disconnect between the installers, management and the admin staff. A lot of this can be installed by additional training and correct processes in place. After this experience over many months i would not recommend this company at all.

“Good salesman banter. Full of lies.”

Please do not buy from this company. Once you have problems, they don’t want to know. They will keep making false promises that they will sort out the problem, but they don’t. They will block you number and won’t answer your calls. Please avoid at all cost.

“Cancelled again at the 11th hour”

Yet again phone call from head office saying engineer not coming today monday 19th October due to him needing to 'self isolate' Had previously had cancelled earlier on in the year due to same! Again I have lost a days work (Advanced nurse practitioner) Howling winds coming through the windows due to poor sealant and only going to get worse over the next few months! Do you not have more than one engineer for the size of the company you are? Again now re scheduled for another 3 weeks!

This company have been horrendous from start to finish I’m writing this to make other people aware as I wouldn’t want you to go through what we have been through. They are good at getting the order from you and the deposit. We had conservatory built it’s not been properly done the roof and the windows are leaking the company has refused to come out they haven’t completed the job to plans. The plan state we should have a manhole and They have not put a manhole in because they’ve been cost-cutting. We currently have no access from our property to the sewage because of this . The work and quality of the finish is extremely poor. The customer service Does not exist,it’s a family business and they all stick together and do not help any customers please please please avoid this company if you don’t want to incur more costs to yourself. We are now in the process of taking them through the courts.

“Arch Front Door”

Ordered my new front door, 3 weeks later, as discussed, the Installer arrived at 8am prompt, started work instantly. 4 hours later finished, and all cleaned up, old door and frame gone. And i have to say, what a great job. no gaps fits the arch brickwork perfectly. Its perfect exactly what we wanted, white arch frame, with black composite door, satin glass top and sides, chrome furniture, (guaranteed for 10 years). Opening and closing the door is effortless. There is nothing we don't like. Cant thank this company enough it certainly is value for your £££. When we start on the other windows these guy's will be doing the work. Cheers LDG

“Would not recommend ”

Our experience with Lancashire Double Glazing has been really disappointing. We liked the salesman who we found helpful without being pushy. From signing up and paying our deposit, it was all downhill. We waited weeks for any contact after paying £1000 deposit. I had to chase on several occasions and was eventually given a fit date that was months later than the estimated date the salesman gave us. We were told the job would be done in a week. When the fit finally started the fitters had only done half the job by the Friday. The front door had been measured incorrectly and did not fit properly. They then (before leaving on the Friday) announced that some of our order wasn’t in and they couldn’t do anymore. When we asked when they were likely to finish they said they had no idea and advised us to phone the office. They couldn’t have appeared less interested. We were left with half a job, a front door that didn’t fit properly and a whole load of our new windows dumped in our back yard, which they hadn’t even bothered to cover. We waited several weeks and finally the fitters arrived to finish the job. They struggled to fit the front door and the electronic lock we ordered would not work. They sent four different fitters to try and sort it. Eventually we were left with a temperamental lock that sometimes worked if we were lucky. Several months on and one of the windows has blown. Not surprisingly, this is one of the windows which was dumped in our back garden for weeks while we waited for them to come and finish the job. After several phone calls we are still waiting for them to come out and sort it. We’ve given up hope they will ever sort our lock. To be fair, the windows and doors look really nice (apart from the one that has blown and is full of condensation)! If this was my company I would be embarrassed by the quality of customer service. I would not recommend and would never use again.

“Happy days”

Just had a front porch fitted and the finished product looks really good - a great addition to the look of the house and the extra space we wanted. The price was good, the team fitting it were good, there was good oversight of the project and a willingness to get it right Would we use therm again - yes

Can someone tell me who is LDG's governing body? As in who you would go to should any problems arise and LDG refuse to help?

If you have issues you can contact fensa. If, as I did, you took out a Finance Option with them (Barclays Bank), then they are required to help sort out any issues with the work done. I had to contact Barclays and, as a result, LDG rectified the problem. Of course, I you paid 'any part' of the cost by credit card, even if it is just, say, £100, you are protected for the FULL amount of the cost, so you can contact your credit card company.
