Guest's review of Rottweiler

“A great breed ”

Written on: 02/01/2014

I have a male rottie. And he is by far the sweetest most goofiest dog. They do require a lot of attention. They are quick to realize who their owner(s) and once that is set they will be the most loving companions. My rottie follows me everywhere I go when I'm in the house. Sometimes it's a pest to deal with but it's mainly because they like to be close to their owner and with them at any given time. They do need exercise daily since they are meant to be strong and powerful dogs. Their instinct is to do any kind of work or be active so don't be surprised when a Rottweiler is busting a door down to go play outside. My husband and I took Memphis (our rottie) to every event we could go to. His younger sister played soccer in high school so we always took him to those mainly so he would always be around children and other dogs while he was still a pup. He love love loves children and acts very well around other dogs even if the opposing side is aggressive towards him. Now I am not saying your dog will be just like mine obviously everyone has different circumstances but it is really all
About how you treat them from a young age and while they are growing. Overall, I seriously have nothing bad to say about Rottweilers. Yes, maybe people might already have a bad impression but that just goes back to the old fashion "how u raise them" type of deal. You could have a chihuahua that is aggressive because their owner did a poor job of raising it. My point is With just about anything it's important to raise and train them right. With those key principles you will have no problems owning a beautiful strong willed dog. Be stern but gentle. Always show them love but show them who the boss is.
