The Resident DJ Kontrol 3 struck me first by it's looks whilst looking at www.hifi-tower.co.uk. I've been shopping for a DJ controller with a budget of £200 for a while and after a few websites you start seeing the same gear over and over again. Never saw this one anywhere, was very reluctant but thought I'd make use of the 30 days return period for a change. What a surprise. I was expecting a flimsy piece of plastic but was greeted with a sturdy piece of gear. If you're DJing digitally you'll want to use industry standard software perhaps, and i can't say much about that. But do rest assured that the suplied copy of Virtual DJ surely does the trick and will allow you to test the amazing functions of this unknown unit. The needle drop function jumps at you immediatly and proves very useful to quickly skip through a track. The jog wheels are strong and seem like they will last. The main buttons, EQ, are of suprisingly good build and inlcude a kill function, which cuts that particular range of frequencies. All three kill EQs active means no sound. The faders are also very sturdy. Overall, i'm just wondering why is this unit not used more. Try it by all means!
