Bought this device from Amazon for £18.87 which enables me to take time-lapse photos with my Pentax DSLR.
The two AAA batteries that power it have a claimed life of two month's shooting which would probably exceed that of the camera's battery!
As this exceedingly useful camera gizmo (which is sold under a number of names and for other brands of DSLR cameras) has a very poor instructions.
I was thinking of making an intervalometer, but the parts would cost more than the almost £19 I paid for this one. Not to mention the time and hassle involved.
Note: It is sold under a variety of names for a variety of DSLR cameras, and under its 'Aputure' title it is significantly more expensive.

There is at least one vid on YouTube showing how to program this device showing how easy it is to do. Like I said, the instructions are very poor and I found them daunting due to information overload.
