Sunday Lunch

This place is disgusting... If anybody from health and hygiene had walked in today, they would of been closed down!! Gordon Ramsey couldn’t help this hole!! AVOID...

Warm Welcome And Beautiful Food

Stopped at this little pud for our lunch yesterday when I had my Mum out for the afternoon. We had a warm welcome from the moment we arrived, staff very helpful, shown to a table and told about the different menu's. The tables were lovely and clean and the pud was lovely and warm and very quiet, this pud is beside a busy road with traffic lights outside and we could not hear any noise. The meals were served nice and hot and regular check were made by the friendly staff. I have intolerance to dairy and egg and the kitchen staff were very helpful in helping me with my dessert choice. Overall a very good meal in a lovely little pub at a reasonable price.

Ignorant Barman

When out on a walk yesterday with my husband & his son & partner, we called into The Butchers Arms for a drink. We weren't spoken to. The pub was busy with diners, rather like an old people's home! I moved a chair to a table and was told in no uncertain terms "Don't block the door!" The ignorant man obviously didn't want our custom, so we left - never to return.

Worst Meal For Years

Group of 6 on the first day of a 4 night stay in Derbyshire. The fish within the "cod" must have once seen the sea, but that was probably many years ago. It was a congealed mess of frozen white stuff within a hard and inedible batter coating. The vegetables were slightly better although tasteless. One person had the sweet and sour pork which was very dry. Best keep to the beer as that was excellent. Keep away from the menu.

Great Little Pub

This was our second visit. Our friend and neighbour had recommended it and we weren't disappointed. It is a lovely pub. All of the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is excellent and there is plenty of it! We weren't rushed and it was a very relaxed meal.

Worth Travelling North For

We live in Swindon and have family in the Matlock area. We often go out for a meal with them at the Butcher's when we visit. It is friendly ,serving good fresh food with unhurried service.

Highly recommend a visit.

Friendly, Welcoming And Fantastic Food

As soon as you walk through the door of this lovely quaint pub you get a warm welcome. You are not pressured into taking your seat like other eating outlets, it's just totally relaxing.Bar and food selections are excellent,i have tried lots of different dishes and all are piping hot and cooked too perfection. Then theres the desserts and i can highly recommend the Plum pie it is without doubt a taste sensation.Enough about my review go and visit, you will not be dissapointed.

Fantastic Pub For Any Occassion

A cosy, typically british pub with friendly owners, staff and locals alike.

The food is brilliant - homemade pies, AMAZING roast beef and desserts such as [the infamous] jamaican rum trifle are all served with a smile at fantastic prices!

Having been to a few parties hosted at the Butchers Arms, the buffet provided is also fantastic, and as the pub is so friendly and welcoming, any party hosted here is sure to be a lively, friendly event!

The pub has had a makeover recently, which has given it a refreshed feel.

We've Been Going To The Butchers Arms For Several

We've been going to the Butchers Arms for several years now - we wouldn't keep going back if we didn't like it. It's good home cooking at a reasonable price. Not the place for a really special night out but you won't get the microwaved rubbish that you do in some places. Good tasty grub at a reasonable price.
