Jury's out.....

I put a profile on IE in early August but didn't pay to join. After getting 40-50 messages in 2 months I stumped up £119 for a 6 week special membership. I the found at least 25 messages were VK or gifts from women who were miles away, half my age and probably fake. Of the 20+ remaining messages at least half were one liners from clearly fake profiles. I messaged the other 12 or so and got 4 replies. One we swapped a few messages before she went silent and refused to respond anymore. Another was from a lady who was 160 mile round trip from me and a third was a desperate woman who was literally twice my size, seriously she was huge. The fourth I've been in contact with for a few weeks. I think she's genuine as I've a photo and mobile number and we've swapped texts daily but it's early days yet and she's unavailable to meet evenings. She's an 80 mile round trip away but I guess I'll have to persevere with her as she seems to be my only hope. I've sent several polite well crafted messages to women who according to their profiles are perfect for me. They read the message, look at my carefully created profile and then won't respond. NB: Most women on the site seem totally obsessed with tall men and think you have to be over 6 foot to know how to treat a woman with decency !! Incredibly the VK, gifts and one liners have completely dried up in the 3 weeks since I joined, what a coincidence!!
My conclusion: Once you've got over the obvious fakes, shallow women and bored housewives who are just on IE getting their kicks messing blokes about you might stand a 1 in 50 chance of finding who or what you're looking for but you have to persevere and have a huge amount of patience and time
