“Not worth the money ”

★★☆☆☆

written by DisappointedM on 21/07/2018

We wanted to watch TV when on holiday and this seemed like a good option. Far from being easy the sign up process for iPad was difficult and long winded and when I contacted customer services I got no reply. We managed to log in abroad but the screen kept freezing and we could not watch the programmes we wanted. I cancelled the subscription. Although I passed on my comments they were not acknowledged until a second email when I was very helpfully informed that most customers did not experience problems. Very poor.

“Not really very good”

We are iPad users and the VPN seems to fail completely about once a month. They are slow to respond but they eventually issue a new VPN which you have to install all over again, and it's a bit of a faff. They supply an VPN,, a Proxy and a smart DNS so you can use up to three devices, I am still trying to use the suplplied web proxy on the other iPad.Their guide doesn't work and they seem clueless as to how to get it working. They just keep telling me to use the VPN, but that is on the other machine and you can't use it on two machines at once. I'd say their service is just about OK if you are a computer user. If you intend using with any Apple device I would say they are far more bother than they are worth. The I've given an aggregate score of 2 stars. If I was scoring as a PC user, they would barely scrape a 3. As an iPad user it would be a 1.

During 2017 the TV When Away service failed me miserably as I could not access the BBC channels. After repeatedly emailing them they failed to repair the glitch which they would not acknowledge, but rather blaming me for not being able to view. Finally a few weeks ago after still many emails they admitted that there was a glitch and that they would repair it. After several more attempts and many emails this was eventually carried out. During the last ten days I have been successfully watching BBC. I explained to them that I was not interested in watching other channels and that for many years had subscribed to their service in order to view the BBC. I have now been asking for them to extend my membership by way of compensation and they have flatly refused which I think is both illegal and immoral. Why pay for something if it doesn't work? I have not asked for a refund just an extension. How can I force them, other then taking them to the small claims court, to behave correctly and oblige? Is there an organisation who might assist me with this grievance? Remember this is a matter of principle not money!!!!!! Thank you.
