Segedunum is the Roman fort at the end of Hadrian's Wall. It is a modern centre with a tall viewing tower, mini-cinemas, kids activities, dressing up, reconstructed bath-house and lots and lots of information about the Wall and the Wallsend area after the Romans left. ( Coal mining, ship-building etc) You wouldn't go there to write your doctorate thesis but kids enjoy the learning experiences on offer.
