I ordered my carpets and vinyl through CarpetWrong. They provided a 'fitting service' - notice my use of inverted commas there... It's been 3 months and 20 days of intermittent waiting and trying to chase up CarpetWrong into fixing the damage they caused my house. I have easily put 10 hours of writing into this process (though much more time into waiting etc), CarpetWrong have barely even given my valid complaint 10 minutes. The carpet fitters annihilated my skirting board. The vinyl of faux wood panels was fitted fully diagonally because the job was too rushed. The surveyor who advised me on the vinyl got key features wrong - like the amount of bars I needed between rooms, and the amount of prep work I needed to do myself to prepare for Vinyl. The vinyl fitter nearly flat out refused to fit my vinyl because the surface wasn't even enough - something the surveyor had advised me was fine and I had followed their instructions to a T. My fitter spent an age on the phone to CarpetWrong who insisted it was all my fault. I literally had to beg the fitter to lay down the vinyl (not like I could afford other alternatives at this point), I was so grateful they eventually caved that I initially didn't take up a complaint about the diagonal vinyl. But it's pretty stressful to keep seeing diagonal floor boards in an otherwise well decorated flat. I started the complaints process on November 1st (straight after my carpet fitting). I was messed around as to which store I was expected to email (I placed my order through Portsmouth, but Fareham store arranged the fitters). The Fareham store bothered to provide me with prompt responses, the Portsmouth store never responded at all to my first email. I chased them up 24 days later and they made a load of excuses for their unprofessionalism. I also was promised many follow up phone calls that never happened. They also massive downplayed the damage they'd done to my skirting boards and made me feel like I was overreacting - I have literal chunks missing from parts of my skirting board. It's not superficial damage whatsoever and they'd have understood that if they had actually turned up as they were meant to. I shouldn't have even had to chase this up - it was abundantly obvious to the fitters seeing as they had full sight. They also damaged my wall (which was newly painted but left 1 month to dry fully) but I at least managed to fix this enough myself. As a paying customer the excuses did nothing to help me - they just gave me even more of an understanding of the level of unprofessionalism. What I gather is the company doesn't employ enough people - no doubt because of a super greedy CEO that wants extra skiing holidays etc and that's bad and worthy of complaints but saying how overworked you are is not a valid response to someone whose house you've trashed. No sorry buts, just sorry and actually rectifying the problem. After a substantial amount of waiting for nothing to get done I placed a scathing 1 star review on Trustpilot (as I had already informed CarpetWrong of my intention to do this and even escalate to trading standards). CarpetWrong's response on Trustpilot was to flag my review as 'fake' to Trustpilot, and burden me with proving the issue to Trustpilot. It was a disgusting response on their part, had they responded well I'd have taken my review down but that made me even more determined to keep it up. It's now 21st February and I was promised that the fitter would fix the skirting board, add the silver bar, and check the vinyl was fitted correctly (it's diagonal and covered in clumps of glue that collect dust so it very clearly isn't). I only found out through phoning the store yesterday the fitter had no intention of showing up and they'd insisted he would phone me first thing today. So I've been stuck in my house for 48 hours trying to wait in just in case (because it was too dark to leave the house after). I'm escalating my complaint to trading standards now, I've sent them an email that makes it very clear that I will take them to small court if they don't finally listen. So I encourage you to never use this 'service.' Ever.

Had to order new stairs and bedroom carpeting following a water leak. Dealt with at the Loughborough shop by representatives there and had excellent service and very helpful, couldn’t be more pleased. Highly recommended.

Terrible from start to the long drawn out bitter end. When you enter Gallows Corner Store (and this was my mistake walking in the door in the first place) you are greeted with fake smiles and talk of how good your new flooring is going to look. I was then required to sign 3 finance agreements as the Gallows Corner store kept messing it up. Then I was called by the store manager who told me that owing to their mistake, they had left out the costs for the underlay and would I mind spending another £200 to pay for their mistake as they wanted me to go halves on their mistake! I then arranged with the fitter to screed the subfloor before the new product was installed by their fitter who was "the best at what he does" only to find he turned up at 10:50 without screed then left my house to purchase screed only to come back nearly 2 hours later then leave my house at 15:00. He then went on to say he couldn't screed the floor because of the condition of it and that they should have sent him out to survey the job in the first place. He then said "This is going to cost a lot more, a lot lot more" after agreeing the screeding costs with Carpetright. During the installation my freshly painted walls now have dirty hand prints all over them, the under stairs cupboard door got broken when they took it off and they left coffee cups, empty bottles of water and all the rubbish for me to clear up. The beading around the edge of the flooring - missing The chrome bar that separates the flooring in the hall from the lounge - missing. I cannot stress enough you should avoid Carpetright all together. You will end up paying so much more than you bargained for and the service is appalling. Date of experience: November 26, 2022

Have a policy of not paying compensation unless sued. that makes economic sense in view of the amount of complaints they generate, but means they are a very good company to avoid. Seemed very overpriced for the modest quality carpets supplied.

Recently purchased some flooring from the Wolverhampton branch, not sure what type I needed and quantity so I asked for advice, who helped me make the right choice for a specific room ,quantity and quality overall very pleased with the whole experience and thought she was a very helpful young lady who took all the difficulty out of the purchase 5 stars will use again when I need carpet! No negatives what so ever.

Chose a lovely patterned carpet for landing and stairs which measured 10sqm. Understood more would be needed due to pattern so arranged for carpet right to come and measure up. They said 20sqm, would be needed. I said far too much. I worked out 12sqm would be enough but was told they would not be enough to match pattern. I said I did not mind it not matching. They reworked the measurements and come back with 14sqm. So suddenly 6sqm less. When the carpet was fitted I was left with a a piece of carpet 1.94m X 2.30m more than 4sqm left over. At full price that's £200 of carpet to be put into waste and to pay for council to pick it up. Carpet right that's the amount needed to match the pattern. I think just taking advantage of people.

Purchase of a new bed and mattress (£1450.00). Now suffering back pain, lack of sleep due to being unfit for purpose - too firm. Told that we cannot exchange it (even though we are well within the'60 Night 'Comfort' Guarantee' period) as we did not purchase one of their mattress toppers - which we were not informed of by the store advisor. We have two mattress toppers and a mattress protector from John Lewis on it so it is clean and well protected. Five minutes in a store on a mattress is very different to spending hours on it every night. We are spending a lot of time sleeping on the sofas. Company very unwilling to help even though we are hugely out of pocket and suffering from pain and lack of sleep. Staff clearly do not want to be there, and have little or no knowledge of the products they are supposed to be selling. Wish I had checked reviews before purchasing.

Carpet have no customer service skills, they have no desire to please their customers, they relent on delivery days that have been arranged and give other days that are not convenient but expect the customer to make arrangements to except their goods on that days, they don’t care if you aren’t available. Customer service is non existent and the staff in store don’t care either. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL COMPANY I would never recommend them to an enemy let alone a friend, I’m in disbelief that such service is still allowed in this day and age

CarpetWrong Utterly appalling 'Customer Service', I don't believe that some of their staff even know what customer service is, or meant to be. It seems that some of their staff believe that 'customer service' is the customer working hard to make their jobs easier while they have a laugh or a cigarette outside. They are so disorganized that they can turn even the simplest task into a series of disasters, compounding a non problem into something impossible for them to fix. Staff will happily create a smokescreen to cover up their own mistakes or just blame others. The staff are so lazy that they almost never return calls, often don't answer the phone and often can't even be bothered to help if they do!

Dont trust Carpet Right 'online' - shocking service, never again !!!! A warning to others thinking of ordering via Carpet Right on line - DON'T ! We ordered laminate flooring towards the back of Sept on a 14 day delivery and we've finally now had to ask for our money back after 2 months no show ! A shocking service. Told stock had finally arrived a couple of weeks ago and DHL were booked in and when it didn't arrive told sorry we haven't got the stock !! Its wasn't DHL's fault as we initially thought. It's CR not knowing their own system at all, after confirming stock arrival in their warehouse when it clearly hadn't. Go elsewhere and trust Carpet Wrong at your peril.

CARPETRIGHT HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVIVE EXPERIENCE WHAT SO EVER.... SALES EXPERIENCE YES BUT THEY'RE AFTER SALES IS ABOUT AS USEFUL AS A CHOCOLATE TEAPOT!!! When we went to the store everything seemed great until the fitting date.. After ordering the carpet we decorated our children's rooms so once yhe fitting date came that was the last piece of the jigsaw however on the day of the fitting we were told that additional things were required of which they could do but would be charged or we could it ourselves. Now as we had just decorated the rooms we didn't want to get the new carpet ruined in anyway so we asked them to do it and paid the money to them as we knew they were a 3rd party fitter and it wasn't their fault we wasn't told about the additional fees. I looked on the email confirmation to see if I missed something however there was nothing in the terms and conditions that stated anything about this charge. When I contacted the customer service team they advised they would pass me through to the store to try and deal with it directly however if that cannot be done to contact them back as this can be escalated further, when talking to the store they just said sorry and said that they would call me back that day once they had spoken to the manager, the day went and still no call. I contacted the store again and again however no answer so I contacted the customer service team again to ask for it to be escalated further only for the woman on the phone to state to me that as I had given the measurements to them they are not liable, I then explained again the reason for my call was that I wasn't informed of the charges as if I was I would have carried out the work myself prior to the carpet arriving and also it did not state anywhere about the charges either, again the service agent kept repeating the same thing again, constantly overspoke me and at no point tried to deal with the issue. I asked if they knew what the definition of a complaint was of which they didn't even answer. They then just said they would email the store asking them to call me back, when the store called me I spoke to the same person who promised me a call back which didn't happen, I didn't get an apology or an explanation, instead I got that they cannot refund me the £50 as it was a top quality carpet which they had discounted in store and also the fitters gave me the option on the day so I chose to pay! I explained again the reason for the complaint as I hadn't been told and also it didn't say in any of the terms about either of which it fell on deaf ears (just interested in the sale but no the aftercare) i have a further 4 rooms to be done of which totals up to £4k to them as we wanted the same carpet however after this experience I will be going elsewhere. I was promised my complaint bring escalated but that didn't happen either. There're plenty of local smaller carpet places who treat customers properly and not as £££ signs.

Chose carpet and paid in August. Should be fitted in 2-3 weeks. After 6 weeks contacted them - they only have one part of the carpet - not the second. Should have by next week. Two weeks later no carpet. Can’t get it now - can you chose another one from our offcuts? Then we can get it fitted quickly. Oh dear, no spaces for fitting for two weeks. Eventually fitting booked for early November, first appointment of the day. 5pm he arrives. Fits carpet in a mad hurry and very badly. Damages newly painted woodwork and didn’t bring the new door bars I paid for! I will NEVER darken the doors of Carpetright again. I think they should change their name to CARPETWRONG!

Will never use them again I ordered my carpet on the 6th September and paid £786 up front. I was told it would take 2-3 weeks for the carpet to come in stock which wasn't a problem. I called on the third week to see if I could arrange delivery and fitting but the carpet wasn't in stock and was told they'd call the following Friday which they didn't so I cased them up and was asked to to called again they'd call me. By this time it have been 6 weeks so I emailed them no response. I called them again and it was made out it was my fault because I hadn't contacted them and they'd lost my details. In the end I got my carpet 8 weeks later! Just not worth the money or the chasing plus stress I had for 8 weeks as I had no flooring and wasn't able to use my living room

Terrible quality carpet. The first time it was fitted it shrunk within weeks and had to be refitted. Then it came away from the grippers and the carpet is rucking up Carpetright say they cannot do anything as there is only a 5 year warranty and re-stretching it may damage it further. Total waste of money. Get any warranty promises in writing. READ THE REVIEWS AND AVOID CARPETRIGHT!
