Took my Elddis caravan in for service and damp check. Before the service was complete Catterick Caravans rang my wife and said “the brakes were non existent, we must have driven with the hand brake on and the drums had been white hot and have extreme heat damage. We must not remove the caravan from their site unless we have it recovered away. If we take it away we must sign a disclaimer” they also said it would be a few weeks before they could get the parts. “Terrible service and Motorhome”

Terrible dealer.. Long review but it is a salutary lesson for all prospective buyers from Leisure World at Catterick. We bought an Autosleeper motorhome from them in May. A 2005 model with 85k on the clock. We got it for what we considered to be a fair price and prior to sale I insisted on three things. Full years MOT, Mechanical Service and a full written Habitation report (to include any damp issues). “Avoid like the Plague”

Purchased a brand new Lunar Delta Ri caravan in 2016. Discovered in April this year that cracks had appeared in the front and rear panels clearly emanating from over tightened screws attaching the panels to the caravan frame. Reported cracks to Catterick Caravans who requested I take the van to them for inspection. Made a 400 mile round trip to Catterick Caravans who took pictures and water ingress readings showing water had entered the caravan. We bought a brand new Venus Caravan on 25th May 2019 from Catterick Caravans. The following week we took the van away for the first time. On arrival at the caravan site we noticed that the front window had cracked while we had been travelling. This was the inside pane so unlikely to have been caused by road debris. We went to collect our "brand new" caravan to find it fitted with a number plate(not ours) water roller connected gas bottles fitted, marks on the cooker and lockers and an external scratch on the bodywork. we were given various explanations but we think that the truth was that this van had been used at the NEC show. nobody from management would speak to us , Swift caravans declined to help , we took the van because we were going away in 2 weeks time. Your review could have been written by us. Bought a new Van in May. During first trip the front window cracked so was booked in for a repair. In the meantime we notice water ingress to the extent of pooling on the front sill. Van taken straight back and refund requested. Since then we have been ignored.

It's a really terrible situation, it does not matter how hard you try to get things sorted, they do not want to know. I am looking at the small claims route, there's no alternative hope you get some satisfaction and resolution

I've got legal cover through my employment which includes Consumer Rights. We'll give them till the end of the week before I make contact with my legal advisors. So far we've experienced everything that has been described in the reviews we've read on this site and others. The after sales service is appaling.

I was told ive got finance after signing up the agreement I got a phone call saying ive been declined black horse said I gave them my wrong date of birth I spoke to sales lady on the phone she asked for my d.o.b she must have put the wrong date on the form then they said I had a bad credit score I was told by a different finance company ive got a good credit score and I was given credit for my car i would never go to cattrck caravans again I know this horrible company wy I did not get finace… Read Full Review

orderedcaravan at NEC show supposed to collect it in April, rang up twice for progress report and each time no one has phoned back as promised. Am thinking I've made a big mistake buying from these, if they can't be bothered to even see if its there what chance have k got with a problem. Picked up our new caravan yesterday, having paid the deposit 2 weeks ago the van still wasn't ready when we arrived. To cut a long story short we set off home and within half a mile the whole wheel fell off the van. The noise of the caravan dragging along the road was so loud and shocking that people living in nearby houses thought there had been a car crash! Bought a new caravan from Catterick Caravans last October. Reported some faults when we picked it up and one we found as soon as we got home. Eventually got two correct parts but still waiting for the third it is a Lunar. They don't keep us informed and things only start to happen again when we get in touch to push. Your review is exactly the same as we are going through.
We bought a brand new Lunar in January 2017, we picked it up and used it once, it was under a caravan cover from day 1. The 2nd time we used it was to bring it in for service and keep within the warranty. When we picked it up we were totally shocked, the service had discovered a large crack in the roof, and they couldn’t open the bedroom sun light window. We were ton six weeks ago when we picked it up they would order the parts from Lunar and contact us when in store that would take approx 2 weeks.
I have kept ringing and we get fobbed off each time by lies, that they have left voice messages etc.
Anyway as I also told them on our way back home from their place we stayed overnight and discovered the roof appeared to be cracking all night and ALL the windows had fogged up.
So we are in this situation of not using the caravan until they sort out the parts with Lunar.
I don’t trust these service department guys at all and now await the man at the top to return a call but alas that I am sure won’t happen, so the caravan is still under cover and we darent use it, what a waste of money argggg.

Short and sweet, aftersale service is none existent please don't even bother to buy a caravan from here as the after sales service is none existent, bought a brand new caravan from here two years ago and had nothing but trouble with it from day one and still having trouble with it now every time we ring its like the Spanish Inquisition very unhappy with their service and will never buy from here again. We bought a new caravan from Catterick Caravans about September last year. When we picked it up there were three parts damaged. We were told they would be sorted and not to worry. After waiting months for a locker door we got it but it was the wrong one eventually we got the correct one. We are still waiting now in May for the other two parts which have both been sent wrong.
