Stay Away, Worst Experience Of My Life

Stay away from Penybanc car centre. Be warned that the after sale customer service is appalling, atrocious and substandard. Worst experience of my life in buying a car from Penybanc.

I bought a discovery and within about couple of miles of driving from the dealership warning lights for faults in the car was displayed. Returned the car within 2 days for repair work. Car was with dealer for almost 2 months. Car was returned with part repair work completed and more faults identified in specialist report. 2 Courtesy cars given during that time, one was very small and very low power for a family car and other in a very unhygienic state. Two parking tickets were stamped on me without proper evidence. When asked for clarification and to give feedback of the service I was verbally assaulted with swear words and threats to throw me out of the dealership by the owner. I was left traumatised for a number of days. I had to file a police complaint. I had to take the help of the financer to return the car back to the dealer. I have lost £4.4k of my hard earned money in the deal with all kinds of allegations of damage to the car due to the return. I have now raised the matter with Ombudsman.

What goes round comes round. Beware of your actions today, tomorrow is coming.

Spent 12k On A Van With Problems !

If I could leave 0 stars I would, I’m so annoyed, So I’ll try and make a long story short, I spent £12k on a 2020 Citroen Dispatch van from Penybanc car centre Ammanford to find out it had numerous electrical and mechanical problems, I emailed Penybanc and it was booked into NG Carworx Ltd Ammanford to have the problems sorted under warranty, the van went in for 2 days, I got the van back and only one of the 8 problems was fixed, NG Motorworx assured me everything bar on item was fixed, I put it in writing (e.mail) to NG carworx that numerous items hadn’t been fixed and heard nothing back, I also put it in writing to Penybanc car sales (e.mail) and heard nothing back.

Then I phoned penybanc and got excuses why no one replied, next they booked the van into Bassetts Citroen in Carmarthen, penybanc wanted me to help pay for it, I said no way, anyway it went in under warranty for nearly three weeks, I got the van back from penybanc, they said everything was fixed, but only one item was fixed again, Just been to my local garage and there are error codes on the van that they say were either not looked at or penybanc told them not to fix possibly because of cost, either way I still have a van with problems, penybanc executive is now getting funny with me saying book it into my local garage then, & pay for the work to be done, and they will refund me…I can see what will happen there, they themselves should be sorting it out, I’ve lost all trust and faith in penybanc car sales and the sales executive there now.

Think twice before you buy a vehicle from Penybanc because once they have your money that’s it, there’s definitely no AA Dealer Promise with these guys.

These guys are pretending to run a quality used car sales operation but don’t know the first thing about a properly prepared, quality used car. As soon as you challenge them about any problems you are met with rude aggressive and intimidating language. If you want an honest garage selling properly prepared quality used cars go elsewhere.

Christmas Day Car Nightmare!!

We recently purchased a car at Penybanc Car Centre as a Christmas present for our son. Before purchasing the salesman was extremely helpful. We were told that the car was reliable and that they knew the history of the car and that it had two previous owners. This turned out to be five owners once we got the log book! We were also promised a full 12 month MOT which never materialised. However, upon purchasing the car we were told that they didn't have the log book and that we'd have to apply for a new one from the DVLA. On Christmas Day my son who was absolutely delighted with his present, took it for a spin. He didn't get too far before the car lost power and when he pulled over water was pouring out. On further examination, the water pump hoses had disconnected and the battery was flat. After reconnecting the hoses, topping up the water and jump starting the car we managed to get it home. During this time it also developed a hole in the exhaust!! On route back to the garage, the car started emitting lots of white smoke and the engine cut out. The emergency services towed us back to the garage and we were told that the head gasket had blown. We were told by the salesman that it could be fixed but we explained that we just wanted a refund. We were told that it was not possible because the owner was away on holiday and would not be back until the New Year. We went back to the garage once the owner returned having previously sent a letter providing a list of faults that had developed. We were told that the owner had left but we would not take no for an answer and decided to wait in the office until he returned. Five mins later he arrived shouting and swearing and banging doors. After 15 - 20 mins of intimidation tactics and verbal abuse he finally calmed down and agreed to refund our money. He also apologised and stated that the car should be scrapped. After reading other reviews about this place I think we were very fortunate to get our money back so quickly. Personally, we would never buy from this dealer again as we feel the car was not roadworthy and should not have been sold but scrapped in the first place. Also their attitude was completely unprofessional.

Should Not Be Allowed To Trade

I bought a car here and had it checked over by a garage 3 days after sale.

Had an issue with flywheel so tried to get information about warrenty they had promised but could not give at piont of sale as "the man who does it is out"

Many many phone calls later to try and get warranty detail and no luck.

I'm going down the legal route now.

I know I have 3 month by law but no contact details to start the ball rolling.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!!

Superb

Bought a Range Rover off these guys . I looked everywhere for a new shape Vogue at this price found one here . Spoke to a sales guy or perhaps he was the manager i dont know. He had excellent product knowledge sold me the car and they delivered to London for me.

Two of my work colleagues have since bought cars from Penybanc and we find there service very good.

They do things the old fashioned way.

Do Not Deal With. Terrible

Bought a car from them last April. It had a few issues which I was told by the "salesman" would be sorted. When I picked it up the issues were still not sorted. Was told to phone the following week to make an appointment to take it back. 139 (this is accurate) phone calls later and days booked off work when it was supposedly booked in the "salesman" would phone and say he didn't have a courtesy car. Apparently something was wrong with it even though it was spotted driving around. This has happened 9 times. I would NEVER buy a car from this place again. I now have it booked in locally to me and I will be sending them the bill. I am also in touch with the warranty company about this place as they are not honouring what they are advertising. Do not waste your money buying a car from these people. They can't do enough for you when you are thinking of buying but as soon as they have your money they are liars and truely rude.

I have written a review on here and I'm going through the same problems with this car sales garage.

Courtesy car has been with a customer for the last 2 weeks supposedly.I have a case open with trading standards and see what I can get done

I too have been ignored after buying a car. They do not honour what they say when they sell it you.

Salesman an arrogant old man.

Don't be fooled by the good reviews as I've been told its the staff writing them.

Audi A4 2002

Bought an Audi A4 2002 plate, not had any problems.apart from number plate light,brake light, which was rectified, guy was good to talk to, told me everything about the motor, all good,boots are good, no wobbles or knocking noises,happy customer.

I Bought A Peugeot 307cc From Here, They Sold It W

I bought a Peugeot 307cc from here, they sold it with an airbag fault which they promised to rectify, which they did, but only after at least 50 phone calls with me constantly being lied to. After 4 months the car broke down repeatedly in the first 12 months I spent over £1000 in repairs. It's now 18 months since I've had the car and its broken down completely with a further £1700 needed to get it back on the road. I've decided to give up throwing any further money at this complete wreck of a car, which I found out after I'd purchased it had been in an accident, and had extensive repairs to both sides of the vehicle. They never disclosed this to me, In short this company  thankfully have ceased trading or so I've heard! £4000 wasted on a rust bucket. As a single mum I could not afford to be taken in by these people. Lesson learned!

Highly Recommended

I've purchased 6 cars from the guys at Penybanc Car Centre. The last one I purchased from Penybanc was a particular model that I wanted, a 2.8 4x4 insignia. The guys went out of their way to source me one, the exact model and colour I wanted, and I wasn't dissapointed. I love the car. The service is second to none. I wouldn't consider purchasing a vehicle anywhere else. Highly recommended'
