JamesSheff's review of Z-Edge T4 Dash Camera

“Z-Edge T4 Dash Camera”

I was attracted to this dash camera from Z-Edge due to its large 4-inch touchscreen that promised to make interactions easy and offer a better detail of roadside playback.

With its 4 predefined setups, you can switch between scenic, regular, and WDR driving modes or choose the parking mode for when your vehicle is left unattended.

These quick optimized options were a nice touch and while I generally use the WDR setting for better recording when driving at night or early mornings I love having options they bring.

When using the front and rear cameras together the T4 dash cam can record in 1080P, more than enough to pick out details such number plates or road signs.

If you want some stunning scenic video of your road trips you can easily unplug the rear camera and record in WQHD 2560x1440P using the front camera only. With a 155-degree wide angle lens, it’s easy to cover the entire road ahead as well as all that goes on behind you.

The scenic drive mode ensures longer video clips which make editing your driving holiday or tracks day videos that little bit easier. Come my next vacation, I’m eager to try this feature out.

A simple to fit suction cup make mounting and reposition the front dash camera really easy and a doddle to remove if leaving the car overnight. The kit comes with some 3M adhesive cable clips but there were not required when I installed this in my Chevrolet Cruze as the yellow tool that accompanies the kit makes it easy to push the cable beneath the headliner and run it across the top of the windshield.

The 4-inch screen makes reviewing the video very easy and I’m sure if I was unfortunate enough to be in an accident the quality of the playback on this 4-inch screen would easily show who was in the right and wrong. A helpful tool to have for when the cops show up as you can’t dispute clear facts.

At $169.99 it’s not the cheapest dual dash camera on the market but with the large 4-inch touchscreen, 4 preset optimized recording modes and wide-angle 1080P recordings it represents reasonable value for money when put alongside the competition. Overall, a good buy that I would happily recommend to others who are looking for a dual lens dash cam kit.
