Made a reservation to book a motorhome to take my family away for a weekend, the deposit went from £250.00 then £1250 and now £2500,really not impressed so far, also unable to get a hold of anyone to talk to, lots of extras that you pay a premium for with the van.

payed deposit then change of circumstances made me cancel asked for refund which they agreed to but 6 weeks later nothing they do not reply to emails I AM NOW GOING THROUGH THE BANK TO GET MY MONEY(OVER 1500 POUNDS) BACK DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY AM GOING THROUGH OMBUDSMAN TO GET THIS COMPANY SHUT DOWN WILL LET PEOPLE KNOW REFERENCE NUMBER TO ADD THERE NAMES TO THE LAW SUIT My refund number with this so called company is 55352

“Tricksters !”

Beware ! the price they quote is NOT the price you end up paying ... huge added extras that should be standard items ... for example a charge of £12.50 if you use the Dartford Crossing where as the actual Dart Charge is only £2.50 ..Motorhome hire add £10.00 This is just one small example of charges .. there are many others BEWARE ! Vehicle was supposed to sleep 6 however we found it cramped for 2 people , 6 would be an absolute nightmare Staff at the pick up and drop off point were all foreign and some spoke little or no English All in all NOT a good experience

“Disappointing Experience ”

Motorhome Hire holiday had always been on my 'bucket list' and I was very excited when I booked a medium sized van for myself and our dogs for a weeks holiday. The initial quote looked reasonable but you need to be very careful to budget for all the extras that you need (gas, insurance, 'returnable' deposit - which I'll come onto later) that you are bombarded with once you have confirmed your booking. That aside, we booked everything we needed and put it down to lack of experience. Collected the van from the depot and were given a tour of the van. This however, didn't include the fact that the main door to the van was faulty, didn't shut properly without being slammed extremely hard (leaving a half inch gap around the whole door) and the 'guard' around the latch mechanism was missing. We discovered this when I caught my finger in the latch when closing the door and nearly took the top off my middle finger. We texted the company to report the fault - along with images of my swollen, bleeding finger - and were given the response "don't worry - it won't get any worse". Not sure if they meant the door or my finger!! This leads you to believe they were fully aware of the fault otherwise how could they make this comment. We therefore struggled in and out of the driver door (with 3 dogs) for the rest of the holiday and blocked the edges during the evening with towels to block out the draught. We were offered a £50 gogw for this when we complained on our return. Which brings me onto the return of the deposit and the gogw offered. We were told that we would automatically receive the deposit 28 working days from dropping the van off. 38 days later, we still haven't received a penny and I have made several phone calls and sent umpteen emails. I just keep getting emails saying 'well it's an automated system - check your statement'. Being well into my 40s I am more than capable of checking my statement and know when several hundred pounds haven't been returned to me! My advice for anyone booking - check every safety feature, and every item on the van when you collect it and whilst they hound you for payments when you make your booking, they're not so quick to return monies owed to you even after it is due. Whilst I enjoyed the motorhome experience as a whole, I would definitely not use this company again and it has really taken the shine off the whole experience for me - which is very disappointing!

“try before you buy”

Booked in may 2018 3 day break via GROUPON app, good deal but lots of little extras we did not expect but had to add on.Very friendly staff with easy check in and check out at the DURHAM centre.Choice of vans on arrival and good handover with little added help for aged relatives (STEP FOR ENTERING VAN).Liked the interior of van and modern gadgets, took a little time to get used to the fridge settings at it took ages to chill and kept BEEPING when traveling.Overall everything in van that we needed to live for short trip and would do again in near future.Only downside was we thought the diesel millage would be a lot better but that may have been our fault as we did not look into it enough.

Complex online hiring process and ability to compare option and pricing could be better. Reception and walkaround at depot was excellent and the vehicle was brilliant. Pleasure to drive and really straightforward to use even for a novice like me. Extremely clean and well appointed with a few thoughtful extras. Return and handover were also easy and smooth. Excellent family holiday which would love to do again!

It was a really good experience. Motorhome hire process was quick and easy. Clear and straightforward. Location was very easy to get to with little traffic on the way. The vehicle was in decent condition with everything needed. Personnel was kind and helpful. Quick check and handover on collection with good briefing on what is what and how it works. Quick handover without any stupid requests on returning the vehicle. Really happy with the overall service received. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Will consider using in the future if motorhome hire is needed. Thank you.

Great family experience, very friendly staff and great to use online system. If you are looking for a hassle-free family break I can't recommend this enough. A few notes, take some Dettol wipes with you, the motorhome wasn't the cleanest but was quick enough to clean ourselves. Also, pay the hire deposit on a credit card if possible as the refund takes a very long time (4 weeks and counting). Would definitely recommend and would use again.

Hired a motorhome in March 2018, 51 days later still awaiting to hear about deposit. Finally get through and got sent an email to confirm deposit amount. £33.83!!! Cant get through again for an explanation, keep getting cut off... Would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND.

“Wonderful motorhome break ”

We decided to try and hire a motorhome for a long weekend as buying one is a huge financial commitment but was something we were interested in doing. We were not disappointed. We picked up our motorhome from the depot with no problems at all. The staff were very informative as to what we needed to do and how to do it. They were very thorough with the inventory and made sure everything was perfect for us before we left (showing us how to move the beds and how to fit a baby car seat etc). The van was only 1 year old, it felt brand new. Not many miles on the clock and felt lovely to drive. The kitchen area was well equipped with everything we needed for over the weekend (pots, plates, cutlery) it had a large fridge and freezer and was perfect for our short break. We spent 3 lovely days in the Lake District in the motorhome, perfect weather and fab accommodation. Would recommend to friends.

Renting a motorhom was something I considered before but actually never made the final step.I have found out recently Motorhome Hire website and because of the issuees with booking hotels in Scotland during the long May weekend I decided to give it a go.The whole process was processed online and it took no longer than half an hour and I had my first motor home secured.It was just few months old and much more comfortable than I expected.With tricky Scottish weather it was great being able to change location every day and have lunch with the most wunderfull views and in the safety from rain and wind (especially on Isle of Skye).This was an unforgettable experience and I will definitly try this kind of holiday again.

“Great motorhome but £1,200 security deposit not returned”

We hired a motorhome at the end of February and returned it on 12 March 2018. Hiring the motorhome was easy and the depot staff were very helpful HOWEVER the whole experience has been ruined as our £1,211 security deposit is yet to be returned. We were slightly put off by the high security deposit but appreciated that the van was new, such vehicles are very expensive and the company needed to protect its assets. We paid the full amount of £1,250 understanding that as long as the vehicle was returned in the same condition it was hired, we would get all our money back within 28 days. We agreed an early collection at a cost of £39 which was to come out of the returnable deposit so the outstanding balance is £1,211. We waited until 20th April to chase up the refund to find out that it was not processed automatically and that we had to accept a statement which would then trigger the refund and ensure that we received the funds in 3 - 5 working days. This did not happen. We chased again to be told that it was 'unusual' for refunds not to go through. We waited a few more days before chasing again and have been told that the refund has had to be done manually and is dependent on the speed of the merchant provider. No further details have been given and we don't know when we can expect our money to be back in our account. The vehicle was returned EIGHT weeks ago and the company still has over £1,000 of our money. As a young family with an eight month old baby and one income, this just isn't acceptable. It really stretched us to hand over such a huge amount at the beginning of the hire - far more than the hire itself cost - and now we are really struggling. I think it's awful that the refund wasn't processed automatically and that we are still waiting with no date confirmed of when the money will come back to us. The company hasn't been proactive in this matter at all and I feel like we have been exploited. It is a real shame that this last part of our experience has led to a 1 star review as we couldn't actually fault the vehicle or the Durham depot staff.

“Scotland 10 day Trip”

I would highly recommend these guys to anyone. The depot was at a handy location from home, the staff at the depot was brilliant, very friendly and helpful, he even paired my phone to the van :) The online booking system was great, really easy to navigate and to use. The staff on the online chat are very helpful and answered all my questions within a day. We went away early April, purchased an extra gas bottle expecting typical Scottish highland weather, although it was cold we didn't even finish the first bottle and we did have the heating on a fair bit At first we were a little nervous driving such a big van but after the first 20 mins or so it was fine And comfortable. Getting back in a car was a bit strange though! The interior itself was nice and clean and everything was easy to use. One slight negative is the waiting time between end of hire and receiving your security deposit back For anyone that hasn't done a Motor home holiday before, seriously consider it. Having the freedom to move onto a new place everyday is brilliant...

“Second Family Road Trip”

We area family of five with relatives round the country and finding accommodation for short stays is always difficult. The hire process is simple, all completed on line, with the instructions and a very useful video if you area first time hire. The staff at the depot are helpful and friendly and on hand if you have any problems. Bot hires were with vans a year old and are still in excellent condition. We traveled from Glasgow to the Galloway coast for a couple of nights, then down to Yorkshire and for the finale it was two days in Legoland! With an unplanned stop on the way home, it's a versatile way to travel and accommodate the family. Great adventure for the kids and good fun.
