They never listen

Despite every time I have a contract with them, I always insist that they DO NOT do automatic renewal, they always do . I do not understand why this is such a constant battle with this firm. Automatic renewal should be optional and you should have to opt in for it. Of not an opt out should be made very easy, clear and simple.

Great fast easy communication when you get through.

I’ve given 4 instead of 5 stars purely because I’ve had to ring several No.s to speak to someone about renewing my policy. When I got through the communication was excellent

Good call centre staff

Just signed up for Autoaid, the agent who took the call was clearly spoken, polite and helpful. Can't give 5 stars yet as have only just signed up so don't know how good they will be in a crisis

Moved into 21c

They used run a paper based system, effective but clumsy. Now have much more modern interface with app etc. My payment card recently expired and payment not processed. Then process to setup new card was simple and they were quite gentle about letting me know there was an issue. Updated in seconds! Well done!

No fuss when trouble happens

The issue about these sort of insurance things is that you don't really know how they perform until trouble happens. If you have made a duff choice it's only then when you find out. Well, trouble in the form of a breakdown forty miles from home happened to me and the contact people and the guy attending couldn't have been better. The mechanic identified what the problem was and that he couldn't sort it, so the car went on the back of his truck and off we went home. I got home within two hours of my first contact with Autoaid. First class service. Thank you.

More expensive to auto renew

Great value policy for myself and spouse, even with 16+ year old cars. My only complaint is making it cheaper to take out a new policy via Martins Money Saving Expert compared to Auto Renewing as a loyal customer.

Still the best but not as good as they were

We've been with AutoAid for about 15 years I think & still rate them as one of the best if not the best in the country, although this is somewhat biased as I have not used any other service within that period. We've used them on a few occasions for recovery, we had a gearbox failure, a suspension failure & an immobiliser fault which prevented the car starting. All have been handled brilliantly & with efficiently none of the horror stories you hear about from the other providers. My only concern is the cost, it was £39.99 when I initially took it out, you didn't have to pay for your spouse, you didn't have to pay for a car over 16 years old, ironically our old car has been the most reliable car & has never had issues (tempting fate) In regards to Options I would like to have Home Start removed as I would never call them out at home I have all my tools. Since the Venture Capitalists bought AutoAid there has been a significant increased the price, but for now I've just renewed again.

Renewed for a second year

Although I have yet to use the service, hopefully I won’t, I have found the price very competitive and have renewed for a second year which was easy to do. Found the Company highly recommended on the Martin Lewis site so felt comfortable using them.

Good service

Have had this cover for a while and have used it a few times, every time a technician has arrived in an acceptable time and when they couldn't fix the fault a breakdown truck turned up in an acceptable time span to retrieve us to our required destination. All personnel we dealt with were professional from the initial phone contact to the actual people who came out to us. One rescue required us to change breakdown vehicles and it all went without a problem. Would definitely recommend.

How easy and quick is the payback of monies paid out when recovered? Never used this type of recovery service before where you pay and claim back.

What happens if I don't have any money on me when I breakdown?

How good is the Autoaid cover in Scotland?

I appreciate that their cover would apply both to me and my husband. Does this mean that 1) when we are out together and he is driving we would be covered? And 2) if he borrowed my car, which he does sometimes he would be covered? He does have his own car but says mine is easier to park in a multi-story car park.
