Bought an emperor sized bed and the order process and delivery couldn’t have been better. Went to the show room to try the mattresses and couldn’t choose between two medium feel mattresses. The sales person said that they have a 28 day satisfaction on the mattresses so if it is not right they will exchange for another (at cost for difference). We thought ok and went for the one we liked that was less expensive (not cheap).
It arrived and the frame was exactly what we wanted but the mattress was awful and nothing like the show room. It was so hard it barely had any give and I could feel all the mattress buttons. I rang the show room the next day and told them. They said they’d note my call but to give it a few weeks to let it settle. After 4 weeks it was still rock hard, despite the medium mattress label. I called them up and the lady said that they don’t do exchanges and the best they could do was a refund and collect the mattress for me to source another one. I made a fuss as I feel that this was miss sold. In the end they said that we could have an exchange as a one off. The difference in price was over £700. We decided that we had no confidence in their mattresses and felt that we could spend another £700 to find the new mattress as bad as the current one. We thought about the refund but the stress of arranging the pick up and finding an emperor mattress that is ok just put us off. We have bought a topper so that I don’t have to feel the buttons.
It’s just not ok to sell mattresses with the beds that are nothing like the show room and sell with guarantees they have no intention of honouring.
I would love to have recommended a British made local product but I’d suggest that you go elsewhere as their customer care once you’ve bought the bed is abysmal. Gutted. I’ve paid a significant amount of money for a mattress that is not what I wanted or in any way similar to what I tried in the show room and their response was awful. If the Directors wish to visit and try it for themselves in order to realise just how rock hard it is they are welcome. They need to review their partnership with the mattress provider and stop selling mattresses with guarantees of satisfaction.
