“Kodak Deceptive Product Mis-selling”

Written on: 13/04/2013

Approximately 9 months ago I purchased a Kodak All-In-One printer purely based on their advertising claims, that their printers allow you to print loads for a low cost. However, since I've had the printer i've gone through 3 sets of genuine Kodak cartridges (at a total cost of £75.00) but I've only printed about 300 pages. I contacted Kodak technical support. They informed me that their printers have been tested to operate at their most efficient when they are printing 350 pages continuously. They do not operate efficiently or economically when used for small or infrequent print jobs. This is fine budding the novelists out there but for most home users, printing tends to be a few emails, some pictures and a few small to medium size documents. Surely, people regularly printing 350 pages in one go would look to use a laser printer, for speed if nothing else. I am completely unimpressed with Kodaks excuse for misselling their products and to demonstrate this I will not be buying a 4th batch of ink for my printer. I would strongly advise that you consider alternative brands before buying Kodak.

“Worst of all printers”

Written on: 09/12/2012

I am just advising you if you need to purchase a printer stay away from Kodak. I do not use color ink only black. In addition, I keep running out of color. And the printer is set not to print unless you replace the color even if black is full The printer is a con,

“Poor quality printer that drinks ink!”

Written on: 21/11/2012 by stokebloke1972 (0 reviews written)

This printer was a replacement for a Lexmark that was costing me a lot of money in ink cartridges. The Kodak range are sold on the fact that are cheap on ink. Whilst the cartridges are not that expensive, they do not last anywhere near the recommended yields. This goes for the colour and the black cartridges. The printer itself is attached to my PC via a USB cable, but has the capability to be wireless. The printer is very slow and clunky when asked to print anything, and wastes ink each time by cleaning the print head, even after just printing one sheet of A4 in black only. Print quality is OK, but at the cost of a lot of ink. The cartridges do not contain the print head either. It has failed to respond to the PC on a number of occasions and I have had to re-install the drivers or run the diagnostics to get it to work again, so it can be very tempramental and unreliable - ie, I never know if it is going to be unresponsive when I send a document to it. My PC is an Acer Aspire desktop running WIndows 7, so is not an obsolete model either. After printing just a few pages in black and white, the ink level display visibly falls for both the black and colour cartridges, and I dont know why, as the colour one is not getting used. When the display says the ink cartridge is empty, the printer seems to bring up an error message and refuses to print, even though I know there is ink left in the cartridge. The printer is a con, and is designed to say the ink is empty when it is not, and then refuse to print - just to get you to keep replacing the cartridges all the while. Very dissapointing machine, and wont be getting another Kodak again.
