If you ever want a reference writing, on the benefits of choosing an "advice based" service, rather than "non-advice", and of choosing RS in particular, then I'm your man.

The depth of RS's knowledge means that, firstly I have been able to access, in excess of, £4500 of my own funds, than EVERYONE else said was possible. I then still will receive a higher annuity than others quoted.

The really worrying factor though, is that I think I understand every word of the explanation of how the annuity will be paid. Retirement Solutions were neither condescending, nor did they try to baffle me with meaningless jargon. They spoke to me, as an intelligent human being, but one who did not have a high level of experience of retirement planning. That, I suspect, describes most people approaching retirement!

"Retirement Solutions" produced a quotation within 72 hours of contact. An annuity which was 20% higher than my holding company, which incidentally had not spoken to myself at all. Retirement Solutions researched 13 different options for me to consider which was never offered with the original company, and I was kept informed by telephone and email on a weekly, or sooner, basis, with precise and concise content at all times. Highly recommened as far as I am concerned. The company representative was always polite and considerate explaining the process fully at all the various stages up to completion. I thank them once again for an excellent service, which I believe would not have been bettered by any other company.

I accessed a compare website and Retirement Solutions rang me back a few minutes later. Very efficient and a better quote than from my current provider. Annuity was £200 pay higher with MGM Advantage, whom they recommended. All paperwork received and tax free lung sum received within a few days. Very good, highly recommended.

I requested a quotation via the website and had a response by phone from Retirement Solutions the next morning. I was given a quote much higher than from my original pension provider and all the necessary documentation sent to me in a couple of days. What could be a daunting wad of paperwork was marked up with yellow tabs at the relevant areas which made it very simple to complete. During the process I was called several times with an update and my annuity was set up within three weeks. A very efficient and friendly service which I'd happily recommend to anyone.

I came to Retirement Solutions as a cynic, being very unhappy with the service and advice received from my union and employer representatives.

RS provided clear options and regular communication and achieved an enhanced annuity with Aviva.

The process was delayed by confusion within the PPF on extracting various AVC funds, but the annuity manager from RS was persistant and combined four funds into one pension.

The fee paid to RS by Aviva seems fair.
