Cheap Land Fill Boots
the lugged sole is hollow, in places the actual sole covering is less than 1mm thick, any sharp stone, rock edge can slice thru it & then it pistons water in with every step & you have wet feet. Mine lasted 3 months of about 1hrs dog walks on bridleways, paths & field margins, probably less than 20hrs of actual use.
These boots aren't up to pavement use let alone hill walking.
Avoid.

Unexplained Deduction On Returned Goods
Purchased 2 nylon belts from their website for £9.99 postage included . Very lightweight quality so returned without touching them (I paid postage).
£3.00 deducted from refund with no explanation.
Not worth complaining but won't be darkening their (real or electronic) doorstep again.

Ordered a pair of Lockton walking shoes which arrived within the quoted delivery time span and in good order. Shoes have proved to be well made and fairly comfortably, although I have changed insoles for sorbothane ones as I do high impact sports. Sizing is about right although I did order a half size larger which proved to be unnecessary but beneficial when I changed to padded insoles. My dealing with Mountainware have been positive so would recommend.
Purchase update. Having worn them for 6 months averaging about 20-30 miles a week walking with the ramblers I am now able to advise on longevity. Although they have been fairly comfortable most of the time it now seems that they have shrunk a bit, as I have had to change back to the original insoles to make more room. Also, the stitching at the side of both boots has failed and the rubber toe protector has lifted in places. However, they have had an above average use through wet grass etc which has had a bearing on the wear & tear. The soles still have plenty of wear, but alas, due to the aforementioned stitching failure as soon as the summer ends they will have to go in the bin. For the average person walking on paths/tracks and not going off piste then these would be perfect. A £100 pair of branded shoes normally last me 18 months so as these were a third of the price this effectively means that the value is about equal. It just depends if you like changing shoes every 6 months or 12 months. Still happy with purchase but will look for something a bit more robust next time.

Excellent Service
I have used Mountain warehouse a few times in the last year. They have been five star in each case, no problems. Anything ordered has always been in Stock, as described, of good quality, prices especially in clearances are excellent. I have just bought my kids some lovely t shirts and fleeces for pretty much half price, £2.99 for a t shirt, can't go wrong especially being decent brands. Communication is excellent, they always email to say order received and when dispatched. I ordered late Wednesday night and my order has just been delivered, Friday morning, free delivery s over £50. Can't be faulted whitchurch is why will keep coming back again and again. HIghly recommended.

Product turned up later than planned, after costly delivery. Then when it did arrive incorrect sized boots were included in the shoe box! Company did not refund the high postage costs until a complaint was made formally. Would not use again!
