I Was A True Fifa Nut Before I Tried This. I Can't

I was a true Fifa nut before I tried this. I can't believe I wasted my money on Fifa games. I won't make that mistake again. This game isn't easy, but it is realistic.

I Am A Huge Fan Of The Pro Evolution Soccer Series

I am a huge fan of the Pro Evolution Soccer series. However, Pro Evolution Soccer 5 is a huge step back from PES4! If players such as Drogba Crespo Lampard and Robben having a tragic first touch and the speed of a snail, is better realism, then give me the old unrealistic games back again. This game is atrocious, and I fail to see how people like Robben and Duff in the game are unable to out pace anyone once the ball is at their feet!

For Me Pro Evolution Soccer 4 Was Like Driving A

For me Pro Evolution Soccer 4 was like driving a Ferrari on an open motorway with no speed limit. However, Pro Evolution Soccer 5 is like driving a 50 ton artic truck in the pouring rain with dodgy tyres and no windscreen wipers !

I so much wanted this game to be good and I've tried to play even when I've vowed never to do so again and in my eyes this game is poor.

Yes Yes we've all played PES4 to death and wanted a new challenge but the challenge we face is of making a decent pass or trying to run in a straight line !

Of course the multiplayer option has been improved and I salute them for it but the game poor gameplay and other little things are ruining this for me.

Sometimes the lag is so bad that you kick off and the next thing you see is that conceeded a corner.

If you playing against a single person they will constantly keep their thumb on the X button to rush computer players into you which results in constant fouls, 30 fouls last time I played.

I also played a game when the opponant was 1-nil up after 5mins and played the rest of the game playing it around his back four, I thought this was supposed to be a game.

In short PES4 was a joy to play, the ball went where you wanted it to do, your imagine after a flowing move, your shot ending in the top corner. Your players moved with fluid grace and a match was enjoyed win, lose or draw.

I'm sure at so point I'll be playing the 'Live' option but then I'll remember way I didn;t like it in the first place.

I've Always Been A Fan Of The We/pes Series Of Soc

I've always been a fan of the WE/PES series of soccer games. I own Pro Evolution Soccer 4 for the XBox, and I must have played a 1000+ games on it. More than 90% of them being multiplayer with my friends. PES4 is extremely good, but at times I felt that the game is too fast, and you don't have even a second to think. You should keep moving and passing the ball as soon as you get it. You had time only for actions and not much for decisions. That's why even the formations, I think, did not play a major role in PES4 as much as I would expect. With moving players so fast, and dribbling so easy, I sort of had an indifference between choosing 4-4-2 and 4-3-3.

For me, PES5 is easily the most awaited game of the year. I bought it on XBOX and I knew that I wouldnt be disappointed. The menus and music are not much of a difference from PES4, but as in any PES/WE release, there was a considerable difference in one area - Gameplay.

The most striking difference is the deliberate slowness of the game. I also feel the size of the ground has been increased. The players look a little smaller on the pitch than in PES4. By slowing down the game what they have achieved is the realism of gameplay. Now it feels like real football. Defenders can keep passing among themselves and waste time. Because the size of the pitch is larger the tackles are not so much as it used to be in PES4. Once you gain possession, you can retain the ball as long as you don't make a mistake. This really impressed me. Similarly, it is not that easy to get the ball from the opponent. When he has the ball, you really need to out-think (!) the opponent to defend the goal and get the ball back. There is a lot of midfield battle, and the scoring opportunities cannot be created easily. You really need to work hard to created chances. I remember that in PES4, the ball is not quite played in the midfield as much as it is in real football. Now, formations mean a lot. I might win or lose the game with the formation.

The quality of the refereeing has gone up. Many times you find him on the stricter side, but that's good for the game. I end up with 4 or 5 fouls in a half, which is absolutely normal. There are a lot of new player animations - from the gameplay animations to goal celebrations. The player physiques will have a role to play in the game. A bulky striker like Rooney or Ronaldo would be able to weather the defence tackles, and storm through the box. It won't be easy to knock them down. Multiplayer in PES5 is also amazing fun because of the scope for employment of strategy, rather than button-banging.

Some people complain that this is too hard. Dont believe them. It takes time to learn but it pays off beautifully, if you start playing this game like real football. And for God's sake, please dont play in 3* difficulty, thats where the game is little boring and defensive. Try 4, 5 or 6 stars, the game is incredible fun.

PES4 is much like the English Premier League, and PES5 is like the La Liga. PES5 is a game that is more of a sim than an arcade. I love this completely, and please play the game, you'd love it too.

I've Now Been Playing Pro Evolution Soccer 5 Since

I've now been playing Pro Evolution Soccer 5 since it came out and am now ready to this game an honest rewiew.

At first I thought " Lets give it time and I should get to grips with the different gameplay" but I'm as disappointed now as I was then ! Pro Evo have taken a huge step backwards and turned this into a Fifa game !

I can believe how poor the players touch and passing is and the whole 'feel' of the game has change.

The only good part of this game is the 'Live' option which allows you and a friend to take on challengers, this is good but again the gameplay lets you down.

I for one with be getting Pro Evo 4 out and enjoying playing 'football' again.

Pro Evo, you've let us all down !!

Pro Evolution Soccer 5 For The Xbox Is Fun To Play

Pro Evolution Soccer 5 for the XBox is fun to play with friends, but other than that a waste of money.

This Guy does not know what he is on about, the review was added on the 2nd of september, which means he has never played the game as it is to be released on the 2nd of october. Fifa 2006 is rubbish and is not FOOTBALL but for chavs who do not play pro evo cos it does not have the real names. This review is ABSOLUTE RUBBISH

salamanda

Totally uninformed nonsense of a review from someone that has not even played the game. PES is universally recognised as the greatest soccer sim around, with far, far more poise, finesse and panache than FIFA or it's other arcade clones. Those that are considering PES 5 only need to read the initial wave of rave reviews of this game together with it's Japanese precursor Winning Eleven 9 to appreciate the landmark title that Pro Evolution Soccer 5 really is. FIFA fanboys need to spend more time learning the alphabet and leave true gaming to those that recognise quality and enterprise.
