I'm Reviewing Spireusa As A Company Rather Than A
I'm reviewing SpireUSA as a company rather than a specific bag.
I placed an order for a Volt XL bag about three weeks ago on a thursday evening. I placed the order on the phone directly with Cory Barnes, the Spire rep. and was told that it would likely ship monday...tuesday at the latest and that it would probably take about one week to arrive at my door.
More than two weeks later, I had yet to hear a single word from anyone at SpireUSA nor did I recieve my bag. Naturally, I decided to contact the people at Spire but that simple task turned out to be nearly impossible. I sent emails and left half a dozen phone messages (they never seem to answer their phone) and I never got a hold of anyone.
Three days later, I recieved a vague email apology explaining that my bag was backordered with a promise that Cory Barnes would contact me the following day to give me an estimated ship date. Cory never called nor did he ever email. That vague apology was my last communication with Spire.
That was a week ago. Today, I checked my online banking statement and saw that Spire has billed my checking card without any notification whatsoever. Because of this and some other pending transactions, my account is now overdrawn and I will surely encur some late charges. Obviously, this is my own problem, but it could have been easily avoided with a simple e-mail from Spire notifying me that they will be shipping my order soon...an email they promised to send but did not.
To top it off, the order confirmation they sent to my email shows my order with my information but they got my name wrong. My name is Neil and the order is addressed to Anthony...where that came from, I have no idea. They even sent me the wrong color bag.
I have no doubt that the product from SpireUSA is top notch...but their ordering and customer service is just about the worst that I have ever experienced. They seem to have very little regard for customer satisfaction and simply do NOT communicate. I can only wonder what I will find when the package arrives...if it arrives.
If you have high standards for products, you will likely be happy with the products from Spire but you will most definately have to lower your standards for customer service.

I have to agree with you. I also ordered a bag from Spire and mistyped my email address. I have been calling and emailing them to correct this and also to inquire about other products to no avail. No one answers the phone, no one returns calls or emails. Meanwhile they already placed a merchant hold for the amount on my credit card. I will be disputing this with my bank as a fraudulent transaction. I'm also in South Florida, maybe they have a thing against us down here? I'll be posting ALL OVER!!!

I bought a Zoom XL from Spire USA (www.spireusa.com) in December and I use it for my G3. Not only is this backpack low profile - no one would ever guess that you are carrying a $3000 laptop - but it is super comfortable and it protects the computer really well. I have already dropped my Zoom XL with my G3 in it and there are no signs of damage! The bag is well designed with everything in mind - great organization! Not only does Spire make a great product (out of Boulder, CO) but their customer service is unparalleled! I will never buy a laptop bag from another company! I am now a Spire die hard - way to go guys! Thanks for the great product and service!
