Creda S202PW

Dont expect this machine to last more than 18 months. Just after the 12 month warrenty we started to have problems and now one of the engine mounting rubbers have broken. Cost for part is £30 for a rubber block which should be about £1. If you can fit it, you're lucky otherwise its anothr £20-£30 to fit it. This machine is cheaply made and falls apart. See other reviews - no one recomends it.

Have had a Creda S202PW for 11 months.

It is actually really good at extracting water from clothes.

Used in conjunction with a tumble dryer it is excellent at extracting excess water from clothes before you put them in your tumble dryer.

Clothes that have less water content dry quicker in your tumble dryer.

Drying clothes quicker in sensor tumble dryers means less electricity and £'s saved.

Many modern mothers should be returning to using these upright spin dryers because they spin clothes at 2800 rpm, much faster than your tumble dryer can muster.

I'd like to be telling people to buy this model because it does work well.

The reason I wont is because it has a design fault

Creda in their wisdom have installed a large capacitor coated in a rubber sheath right next to the motor, with minimal gap.

If the tumble dryer load becomes unbalanced vibration can occur and the motor and rotating column can move. Vibration and knocking then hit the capacitor.

Over time the leads connecting to the capacitor snap off.

You then start up your spin dryer and hear a humming noise.

The chamber wont turn and it sounds like your motor has gone.

You phone up creda and if its out of warranty, they offer you a contract or repair charge to fix a design fault that is of their own making.

So you've bought a spin dryer that is excessively priced at £120 + and then it fails after 10-14 months because of an obvious design fault.

You call out the engineer after paying an excessive repair fee and then you find

the problem is a lead disconnected from a large capacitor.

This is a common fault and creda know it.

So why not amend the design?

Money to be made from customers of course.

So until creda make spin dryers without clear design faults, i'd say to potential customers stay well clear- Unless you are happy to use a soldering iron periodically to solder a broken lead back onto its large capacitor.

When you pay good money for a spin dryer thats the last thing you expect to be doing.

Creda used to make reliable spin dryers that lasted a reasonable time.

Now they are made in East Europe, its design hasn't improved, they have become too expensive and this model is sold with a clear design fault, which creda is no doubt profiting from. AVOID!!!!

My Creda S202PW jumps all over the floor and failed After a Month, loose wire on motor

My Creda S202PW leaks, and spins the plastic shield out. Mime came complete with loose wiring and it's awaiting the engineer again. Luckily, I've had it under a year.

i've had my Creda S202PW for only a few months, its used about 1 or 2 times a week, not long after i bought it, it suddenly failed to spin, making a humming noise,an engineer repaired it by re-making the electrical connection to moter start capacitor. Now a month later it trips my electric circuit when it gets into its intermediate speed, all my other electrical appliances work OK on that circuit.

The Creda S202PW has no wheels to base making it hard to move for elderly people. I think a bit more thought could be put in to the basic design.
