After Watching The Horribly Inaccurate Count Of Mo
After watching the horribly inaccurate Count of Monte Cristo released in 2002, I was reluctant to purchase this version, not only for that reason, but that it was in French only. After watching the work in its entirety, I wish there was MORE! Gerard Depardieu plays Edmond Dantes like he should be played, bringing out every different kind of emotion and doing it with expert proficiency. His supporting cast is equally up to the task, ESPECIALLY the nervous and vacillating Monsieur de Villefort... Once you start watching it, you will be so focused on the story that you will want to watch it all in one sitting, but of course with every great work that is complete, that is all but impossible! I give it a legitimate 10...THE BEST adaptation yet!!
