Quicker going to the post office This needs lot of improvement

After getting an email saying my DD had not been paid I checked with my bank and it had been paid. Trying to contact vehicle licensing by phone is almost impossible. A pre recorded voice continually says they are busy. A second phone number directs me to the busy number. This is a totally usless site.

Having just bought the vehicle and did yet have the log book in my name. tried to road tax it using the V5C/2 reference number. Web site did not recognise the number, and stopped the application . The site then suggested I go to the post office to try and tax the vehicle. [the old way]!

How many people have never received their Car Tax Due reminder letter, but promptly received a Untaxed Vehicle Letter with a fine for £139.00.

Is this just another way of robbing us of our hard earned cash by not sending us reminders anymore, thus gaining very easily for them all the extra money they want, robbery without a gun comes to mind . disgusted I never received a reminder especially as I have always paid my road tax on time

Wonderful idea, has saved me a lot of time and I now use the monthly payment scheme too!

what a pain to tax car online tried a number of times did not have my reminder sent to me what do you do without that number what a RUBBISH SITE phoned them a lot easier feel sorry for eldely people its hardwork better to phone them.

The new tax system started on the 1st October - I sent my log book back on the 2nd. I got e refund on my car tax on the 13th...considering the new way of doing things with car tax - I feel the DVLA should be congratulated.

I to renewed my car tax on what I thought was the official DVLA website. I had used the website before and it looked exactly the same. I did not find out that I had been charged £40 until my credit card statement arrived. I contacted the DVLA and was told that the site was a private website that recorded my details and sent them to the DVLA to purchase my tax disc and charged me for the privilege. What a rip off! How are they allowed to get away with it. This should be featured on Watchdog to make people aware. I shall be using the old fashioned Post Office from now on.

I would appreciated a site that was clear about its actual service and the costs involved so the victims of this would realise what they were letting themselves in for
