Very Very Poor Customer Service (no Actually Lower Than That
I have just finished dealing with them these past few days.
I feel sick of dealing with them.
I have a long story which I'm not gonna bore you with.
Just stay away from this bank.
very very poor customer service (no actually lower than that)
On Hold Too Long
Ridiculous amount of time to wait to talk to someone and to make matters worse the CSR hangs up on me and I have to do the whole process over again. I won't recommend them to anyone I know.
Ripp Off Artists
I've been dealing with Canada Trust for at least 20yrs before TD got involved that's when it was awesome. Not one single problem. I've had so many issues with them now. I had one branch in Vancouver BC screw up my vehicle loan with RBC because the teller screwed up my cheques that I ordered. She assumed I was with the King Edward and Knight st branch when I was not. I then I got a letter saying my loan was going to collections because they couldn't get the money out of my account. Well with the wrong transit number I'm not surprised. I then called down to that branch and of course I was angry they were screwing up my credit. At the end of that conversation the bank manager yelled at me. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT. It was their fault and they were yelling at me. That of course made me even more angry, but that's how they do things.
Then I got a Visa through TD Canada Trust they told me my percentage would be 7% as long as I never missed any payments which I never did. I then noticed my percentage going up I asked why and they it's was because I wasn't paying off my card each month. I said that doesn't make sense. If I was just going to pay it off at the end of the month why would I care about the percentage. Then when they sent me my card renewal which said 12.75% and on my bill it said 20%, but that's how they do things.
Then a lot of the account accuracy is awful. You calculate your bills and everything and see you have a little left to take out you take the money out only to find out later that you had no extra and they ding you with extra charges. Over draft etc. Then they blame the website, mobile app, etc. I personally think TD Canada Trust knows exactly what's going on with this little computer glitch. I'm sure this is happening to thousands of customers not just me.

Td, The Us Operated Canadian Bank For The Us
The TD Bank is not concerned about its Canadian Customers. It's more worried about keeping the US on its side and will take direction from the US to govern the way it handles its Canadian customers. The TD Bank has made deals with the US IRS re FACTA on the way it handles Canadian customers when there is no Canadian law. I am a Canadian who has had my Canadian Accounts at a supposedly Canadian Bank suspended because of a US ruling. And they don't care.....
Was Trated Like A Criminal - No Respect
I went to TD Canada Trust at 3191 Strandherd Dr #100, Nepean, Ottawa Division, Ontario K2J 5N1, trying to wire US$ to US. I was treated with no respect, I feel like being treated like a criminal!

Not Interested In Help New Immigrants To Canada
I'm a new immigrant to Canada on a 3 year work permit, it's an inter-company transfer, and I have +7 years with my current employer.
When I landed, I took a lease on a vehicle and after a year, I decided that I wanted to buy my way out of it. I was being charged 22.5% interest and approached TD Canada Trust for a loan. I have been with TD for the duration of my stay in Canada and had built up a good credit history (bills paid on time etc.) They refused to approve my loan, the reason given is that I'm not a permanent resident, so I will be closing my accounts with them as soon as possible. I have no interest in doing business with a bank that has no interest in doing business with me.
Impersonal Service
I think that the Easy Web at TD Canada Trust is really exceptional and I always find the staff when I phone for a card issue, really great to deal with.
However, I am also disappointed with TD Canada Trust and I am closing my account. It's a sad day but it is not the service oriented place it was, despite its exceptionally internet banking. That I will miss.
I have been with Canada Trust since the early 90s. I paid off a mortgage with them in 2005. When I asked for a line of credit for $15,000, in 2010, they said that they would allow me $7,500 even though I earn over $85,000 a year and have $230,000 equity in a property and no debt! And they charged me 7.5% interest on that $7,500 I borrowed. I didn't enjoy the impersonal questioning and being treated suspiciously, either. I actually reminded the loans officer that I had been a customer for almost 20 years, they could see my steady pay cheque going directly into the account for years, hadn't applied for money before etc etc. But I met with a poker face and continued to be treated as if I was asking for the officer's right arm.
I didn't feel very good when I left confused and annoyed. I actually paid it off in six months by borrowing from Envision that only charged me 3.5% interest! So, what the heck is with that TD?
Moreover, (since I didn't learn my lesson yet), I applied for a US visa card for my travels to the USA. They didn't see any issue with the application. But I didn't contact me and I'm a busy person and just let it go figuring I'd follow up next time I was in there. Two months went by. I'd actually forgot about it until TD called and asked if I would like to come in to talk about investments since I had good cash flow in my accounts and a good income. I said no thank you and asked what happened to the US visa application. They said I was denied. I asked why they didn't call me and let me know. They didn't know why someone had not called me. So if I am money bags for investment reasons and I have assets and no debt, why the heck was I denied?
I recommend Envision. I have a red frog account with them now and they gave me a $120,000 line of credit, which I didn't ask for and won't be using, but my, what a difference. Also, no fees for everything and good service. I actually prefer the TD CanadaTrust lay out and service of EasyWeb. But you know, to be appreciated and treated as if my bank knows me and values the long term history I have with them, means more.
Goodbye TD.

Happy Customer
Thank you Marika and Oliver (managers for Branch # 1579) for taking prompt action regarding my complaint. Accepting the fault and rectifying it right away is what great customer service is all about. This branch is definitely a role model for other branches. I'm glad be a TD Canada customer.
