Strong Melodies, Fine Execution, Almost Telepathic

Strong melodies, fine execution, almost telepathic interplay, Braxtonian intelligent conceptualizations and striking packaging (although light on liner notes, if you're into that sort of thing) make The Invisible an intriguing album of admirable contemporary session jazz, with free-form twists and turns, by an imaginative young quartet who frequently draw on ethnic arrangements to colour their more traditional instrumentation, including versatile and highly skilled drummer Jim Black, and led by Reno academic muso and Liebman / Shorteresque saxophonist Peter Epstein.
