I am reviewing Paolo's Ristorante, Reston, Virginia, USA. We chose this restaurant completely at random and I am so glad we did, I would say it is more a bar with a restaurant attached. I was extremely happy to find a blush wine being served and the waiter was extremely helpful, allowing me to taste the different wines beforehand and keeping a close eye on our water etc. You will receive soft Breadsticks and Olive Dip whilst you wait. Both very nice. The starters (We had calamari) was very tasty and went very quickly, but the mains were not quite as great. My husband had the Steak Medallions and they were cooked to perfection, however you really dont get a lot of it, its very 'al-la carte' I had the chicken Pizza and was very disappointed they used thigh/leg of the chicken meat, this gives a totally different taste to a pizza and it makes it feel like they've re-used the meat (to me!) I would much prefer they use Chicken Breast as this gives the pizza a fresh taste. My friend had the Shrimp Risotto, and her husband had the Angelo Pizza and when asked how their meals were, they shrugged and said "Yeah ok" so nothing outstanding. However the Baileys coffees afterwards were delicious and the Red Velvet cake was out of this world! So Theres good and bad points. The Bar is very busy (We went on a Friday night) and seems young and vibrant, I would definitely go back for a drink. Just maybe not for the food.
