Economy World Travel Insurance WASTE OF MONEY

We took out a worldwide travel policy thinking we had a good deal.Unfortunatley we endured 3 separate issues which resulted in two separate medical incidents and one missed connection.Total cost approx. £450. On trying to make a claim after first MEDICAL incident I am informed "sorry deduction of the excess negates the value of the claim".Then through no fault of ours a delayed flight meant we missed a connection and consequently one night of prepaid accommodation "sorry missed connections caused by delay are not covered by Economy policy "
Unfortunately we had to take another trip to physician "if we deduct excess you can claim £5 "
Can I put two of the issues together as they occurred during the same trip?. Reply No they must be separate .In total spent £317 on insurance and £450 on "incidents "Staff at call centre were condescending and unhelpful. Policy wording on Policy Certificate is NOT CLEAR. Unless you die on holiday or take seriously ill an Economy policy is a waste of money from my experience at least from Post Office
