“More like a hostel than a bed and breakfast”

From start to finish this 'bed and breakfast' was nothing but a headache and a waste of money. If you don't want to bother to read the lengthy review, then just don't stay. Its a complete rip off, and the moment you arrive you will regret it.
The building is actually under refurbishment, yet there is nowhere on their website informing guests of this, nor in the confirmation email (if you get one) and they still charge full price for the rooms.
When we arrived there was no one there to greet us so we had to stand in the street for 5 - 10 minutes waiting for someone to arrive with all our baggage.
The building is surprisingly decorated rather nicely inside, and had character. Yet felt like a hostel more than a bed and breakfast. Other guests had scattered mess and belongings around the shared sitting area and kitchen, cluttering the area and taking up space in an already very small space.
Although there is what appeared to be a small garden in the rear, it was decorated with the other guests laundry - not particularly a pleasant view and not a sight to enjoy a glass of wine over.
The rooms were again very small. Only one person could move around at a time as there wasn't enough space for two people to stand around in the room at the same time without getting in each others way. The room description failed to mention the double bed was pushed up against the wall so unless you are extremely light and flexible, you will struggle to get in and out of bed. There is NO space to put any suitcase of any size in this room.
It is also not a good choice if you are light sensitive as there are glass panels above the doors leading onto the hallway, which every time someone walks through the hallway/landing sets off the light sensor and floods the bedroom with light which you can't prevent.
There was also long black hairs hanging off the shower head and in the bathroom which normally would have been cleaned following a comment at reception, but as the staff just hand you the keys and leave following a brief tour, we were left having to clean it ourselves - even though we had just paid almost £90 per night.
The bathroom on the whole, although modern and recently refurbished, is tiny.
On top of this, included in the price is a 'self catering breakfast' - that means not only do you have to clean up after yourself around the other guest's mess, but you also have to incorporate a trip to Sainsbury's or a café, as only half the breakfast is provided for.
It makes a night stay in a travel lodge feel like 5 star luxury.
On reflection I would have rather camped in a tent then paid almost £90 for a nights stay, and feel like I've been ripped off.
A nights stay at this bed and breakfast can't be worth anymore than £40-50 max.
On the plus note, the bed was extremely comfortable.
