Ischia - a gem in the Bay of Naples

The Aragona Palace hotel was in a perfect position for us, on the quayside, in the midst of restaurants and attractions. The bus station and beach were both only five minutes walk. We visited the castle, about two miles away, and found it enchanting. We took a bus to the Mortella Gardens and they were vibrant, shady and relaxing. We also spent a whole day in the thermal water park, Negombo, which is perfect for fans of spa pools. We had delicious light lunches wherever we went served on delightful terraces.

On the final evening we went to the Three Tenors concert held in the Palace just five minutes walk away. It was a super evening and the performers were excellent, with the singers encouraging the audience to join in with the chorus.

The hotel and food were good and the staff was excellent. There was an indoor and outdoor pool of thermal water which we enjoyed.

There was a relaxed atmosphere on the island. Apart from the buses, where it was sometimes a bit of a scrum!
