“First experience - NOT good!”

My boyfriend and I were booking our first vacation together, we found what we wanted online and ordered it over the phone with a bookit travel agent. The young man we dealt with was WONDERFUL! He was laughing with us, joking, telling us about his girlfriend and him going to the same resort etc. The booking took approximately 5 minutes beginning to end...

BUT...after I got off the phone (within 5 minutes) I realized that I had a college nursing final the day we were scheduled to fly out. I immediately called back and explained to the man that answered the phone what had happen. He proceeded to tell me that I would be charged $25 to change the reservation and another $20 for them to do it. The agent was terrible! I was on the phone for 2+ hours trying to get my reservation corrected. I ended up hanging up and calling back the next day.

The next person I talked to was pretty good too, he got my reservations straightened out and he was able to wipe out the charge because of the fact that I called back so quickly after the fact.

We had a couple of good agents, but the one agent who kept me on the phone for 2+ hours - there's NO excuse for people like that. If he isn't trained or doesn't know how to do his job he shouldn't be working there!

We are scheduled to go on our vacation in a couple months...I just hope our flight/hotel/transportation are all for the correct dates etc! Wish us luck, I guess we'll find out soon!

What a terrible experience for a first-time vacation!
