“A great camera”

The good Oodles of screen real estate make the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 terrific for videos, games, and reading; and its improved stylus aids productivity. A blazing quad-core processor, a great camera, and strong battery life round out the advantages of this Android 4.1 phone

In 2014 I received my Samsung Galaxy S5. I love it's waterproof, and a very strong battery life. Camera performance is awesome. I no longer use my compact camera as my S5 is now taking decent pictures. Plus it is handier! Some time in 2015 I changed the OS from KitKat to Lollipop. Unfortunately my camera stopped functioning after the update. Any time I use the camera, I needed to restart the machine. I checked the phone again and, happily, it was going back to normal. Now I can shoot again!

Really happy with this phone, great functionality, easy to use. The screen is very clear and image very clean, it has a great LED Flash 8M camera, battery life is pretty good at almost two days, and all the apps installed work perfectly, especially the sat nav and maps which I use often.

“Samsung Note 2 "PHABLET"”

★★★★★

written by willtublin on 22/05/2013

I recenty got this unit and have been highly impressed with its performance in many areas. It has a giant hi-res screen and yet the battery life lasts about a day and a half. The standard battery is 3200 Mah yet the phone is only 1/4" wide. It has a 8 meg camera, which shoots great high resoltion photos and video. It has many internal app that allow you to use the included stylus to manipulate and color or play with the photos in very interesting ways. It has all the best of Android 4. ice cream sandwich software to run it as a phone and yet is really large enough to use as a tablet. Hence the new term "PHABLET" a Phone/Tablet combo. It is the largest phone out in the wireless market at this time and for some it may be a lttle to big, especially if you have small hands or just dont want a large touch screen smartphone. But you only have to spend one day with it and you will never go back to a smaller screen. I would highly recommend this SAMSUNG phone even though it is a little expensive because of all of its combined phone/tablet features. But you really get a lot for your money.

“Decent functionality, but disappointed overall”

★★★☆☆

written by JeriM on 21/05/2013

OK, so I've tried to break my Apple addiction, and my first step was to try out the Galaxy Note II. Let's start with the positives: the display is fantastic, and functionality is definitely better than I expected for a non-Apple device. And price-wise, I got a good deal. But unfortunately, I was more disappointed than anything else. The negatives: - The SPen is small and the button is hard to find - The back panel is way too slippery (dropped a few times) - The speaker basically sucks. Needs to be much louder. I'm going to try to get used to it, so there's hope yet.

“Best phone available”

★★★★★

written by mhuntley on 20/03/2013

The size of this is amazing. Some people complain about big phones however as long as the phone is thin, having a bigger screen is so much better provided it still fits in your pocket like the note ii. After getting this I barely touch my tablet anymore.

written by DFJames on 17/01/2013

Without doubt the best mobile I have used to date. Does most of the things my ipad can do but even more portable. If you're in the market for 'do everthing' handset, it's definitely worth a look.

“Best battery in its class”

★★★★☆

written by nicohs on 15/12/2012

i have moved on from a blackberry, to an iphone 4s and now to a samsung note 2. Best battery hands down is the note 2, then the iphone 4s then the blackberry (blackberry) has the worse battery ever! jelly bean 4.1 is easy to use, but compared to an iphone, its more complex but has more selectable features. playstore compared to the iphone appstore is still need more improvements, however, its has similar functions. The andriod system is an open source and can get virues if you are not careful when opening a website or even downloading and installing unknown applications from an unknown source. the Spen is quite an amazing feature of the note 2, it can detect the amount of preasure from the pen it self and so you can have a brush like effect on the screen. Roaming the pen on the note 2 screen can give you a preview of the video you are about to open. However i never seem to use the Spen on the note two as i still prefer typing as i have messy handwriting. I have the 16gb LTE version of the note 2 and i think the 16gb size is not enough for a serious user. An external micro sd card is also optional for this device, however the maximum it can hold is 64gb of data which i also have, make sure you buy the class 10 andriod version 64gb micro sd card version so your files are not easily corrupted and can work straight out of the box. camera looks good and video can also be recorded in HD, this can also be saved on the external micro sd card slot. Taking a pictures is quite fast and faster then the iphone 4s however compared to the iphone 5, the pics turn best on the iphone 5.

“FANTASTIC phone +++”

★★★★★

written by Revcam on 29/11/2012

This a fantastic android phone, big enough to be used as a tablet but small enough to be put in a pocket. The battery life is really great, I get about 4 days between charges. I am using it on O2 and their price is really good. I bought the Note 2 from Tesco and used their 'double up' on the vouchers, so it does cost a lot less than other places such as Carphone Wharehouse.

“The Note II Will Blow Your Mind”

★★★★★

written by on 22/11/2012

With the craze of the iPhone 5 a few months ago, everyone thought the other phones would go overlooked. This was not to be the case with the Note II however. When technology behemoth Samsung decided that they’re going to launch this fantastic piece of gadgetry a few weeks after the iPhone 5, they did so because they knew that the Note II was going to make a big bang. And so it did. While the Apple fanboys rejoiced in the street, Android followers were drooling over this beautiful 5.5” sleek device that boasted a 720x1280 screen with a massive 267 pixel per inch density. The Note II is a large phone, no doubt, but it’s slim and weighs less than 200g which is fantastic for a phone of its size. The phone boasts the latest Android OS, Jelly Bean, and has a Quad-Core chipset which makes the experience on the device absolutely blazing fast. 2GB of RAM does of course, provide a lot of help. A fantastic 8MP camera at the rear capable of taking photographs at resolutions of 3264x2448 helps its case, as does the front facing camera, capable of HD streaming. The most standout feature of the Note II of course, is the advancement that has been made in terms of the S-Pen. The hover functionality makes the entire experience absolutely killer, and when you’re taking down notes it almost feels like you’re writing on a notebook. It’s fantastic, it’s smooth, it’s sleek and it’s everything that you’re looking for in an Android smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is similar, although not as high powered as the Note II, and definitely isn’t able to give the amazing large screen experience that the Note II imparts on its users. The S-Pen allows you to do a whole lot more with the device, with the right apps you’re able to work on the move, make modifications and write comments on presentations and spreadsheets if you’re looking at working on the move, or lets you make some pretty fun modifications to your photographs if you’re looking at a little activity with friends over networks. Browsing through Twitter, Facebook and other social networking websites is a breeze and no functionality seems to be lacking. So what’s wrong with the phone? Well, for a section of consumers out there, it might be a little large. I’ve heard of a lot of people going for the S3 simply because they feel they don’t have any use for the stylus and feel that the phone is a little too big to be carried around everywhere you go. It does however, slip and fit really well into pockets of jeans and trousers, but perhaps ladies will have trouble with such a large device, it is something that was expected. Overall, the Note II is a fantastic buy and is an incredibly addicting device.

I simply dont like this product, it was engineered to suit a purpose not solve a problem. The problem was people wanted bigger screens and cleaner interfaces, yes its a cleaR interface, but without dedicated apps to suit its increased size, the note; you find your apps or webpages, dont quite fit or are not scaled to fit the screen size. Now im not a huge Apple fan but using the iphone 5 against this, yes this might be slightly quicker by a hair, i cant make any complaint to the iphone 5 simply put the apps are perfect. Theres no scaling up or down, no blur, none of this rubbish where someone makes an app for a tablet, but when you try and use it for your phone it doesnt fit the screen and vice versa. Every app is dedicated and fits the screen perfectly, no edges no mess, just clean and crisp. Actually ive found that about every Apple product ive used, i can download an app on my iphone 5 and use it immediately on my ipad and they both look the same, both fit the screen, and they work very well. Well as for the engineering issue i find with the Samsung, the iphone is designed for my hand, and well it fits perfectly, im not stretching my hand and my fingers can reach across the screen without adjustment, and best of all NO STYLUS. I do like the Samsung because its cheap, but maybe cheap Isn't the word for Quality..... I dont fancy losing my stylus either wonder how much that would cost to replace?
