I have had several repairs done here and they are always reasonable, thorough, knowledgeable and the communication is good. They will give advice that doesn't necessarily benefit them, and recently they didn't charge me for a temporary repair when it became clear that much more needed doing and a new bike was in order, even though I didn't commit to buying one from them. I would definitely trust them again.

I had a problem with the chain slipping on my Brompton and did some research online - it sounded as if it may need a new chain & sprocket. I first called Evans Cycles as the Brighton agent: they suggested I source parts myself and bring them in and they would fit - but if the chain wasn't the problem - hard luck. They mentioned Baker St Bikes kept a stock of parts: I called them and they were helpful on the phone - bring it in. When I took my bike in they sorted out the problem in 10 mins - with no new parts - and couldn't have been more helpful. No charge - but they will be getting my custom in future, and I did buy a good lock from them so they had that business as well. Highly recommended

“Amazing service ”

I purchased an ebike in late August and the staff were very helpful. Today I realised the battery was not charging so I called them and they asked to take the bike in. They did a full check of the bike in about an hour they knew the problem. The battery was faulty and this was replaced within an hour and a half. The service at this shop is brilliant and all that work in there are so happy, polite and knowledgeable about the products. Anyone who wants a bike do not hesitate to go to this shop. Thank you for all your help.

I bought a bike from Baker Street bikes recently and would like to say that it's definitely the best bike I've ever had. Friendly, professional staff that offer a very prompt after service too. I would certainly recommend it

“Best repair shop for British Volt electric bikes in...”

I have a British built Volt Metro electric bicycle which had a rear wheel puncture. Three independent bicycle shops would not entertain the repair when I telephoned them. The other two major chains faired worst. One, a chain of superstores happily invited me to bring my bike in, checked it in, failed to call me the next day and when I called the second day later, I was told they have decided not to repair it because they do not feel confident enough and they have too many other bikes to repair! The other chain of bike stores again casually invited me to bring my bike in but refused to take it because their technicians says electric bikes take too long to repair and they are too busy! Yep, in all occasions, I did tell them it was an electric bike together with the make and model when I called them. However, my experience was totally different when I called Baker Street Bikes (BsB). The service was casual but professional with no hiccups at all. I left my bike at 1145am and got a call to collect it around 1330pm same day. No hassle, no excuses no drama. Considering the extra work involved, the repair cost was absolutely fair. We Brightonians with our green council pinnacles our Environmental agenda therefore cycling is priority in our community's essentials. Unfortunately certain bicycle retailers deems cycling as a commercial cash cow. I have advised Volt UK to include BsB in their list of recommended Volt repairers and I thank the guys at BsB for accepting and repairing a British built product so efficiently and professionally. Lastly, I am neither linked in anyway whatsoever with Volt or BsB but merely a cyclist who had to electrify due to a dodgy ticker.
