X-cart Is Nothing But Problems.

We had been running X-Cart for 3 years. Had to close our store because we had nothing but problems with X-Cart. Lots of integrity issues, Google said the Mobile Module has lots of issues such as the buttons being to closes to each other and gave it a very low ranking. X-Cart Tech Department told us to stop using the Refine Filters and Infinite Scroll Modules as they have issues. I highly suggest you don't invest a dime in X-Cart software. We had full Tech Support and they could not fix the issues. Some issues they said were not covered by Tech Support and wanted us to pay a ton of money to fix them. X-Cart Techs will blame 3/4 of the issues on your server host and try to get you to switch to their hosting. In most cases you will turn in a Tech Support request and get an e-mail within the following couple days saying they need more info to work on the issue. It does not matter how detail you make your request. We had some support request handed to personal that were heading out of the office on vacation. Over all experience with X-Cart was a nightmare each day.

Good Software But Some Issues

I find Xcart to be a pretty good ecommerce / CMS platform overall. The software interface is pretty good - not too techy but techy enough that you have some decent tools

Things like couponing built in was really important and this works like a dream.

The reason I've given this 3 out of 5 though isn't so much because the software is poor but is more because their partnership strategy isn't great. Once you've bought the software and you want to find a developer to customise it for you, you'll find a great problem with finding competent Xcart developers - they are just really hard to find.

Once you do find one you'll also find it's incredibly difficult to customise so costs and hair-pulling-out escalate.

The other issue for me is that it's kind of getting left behind a bit compared to some of the other big platforms like Magento and Shopify. If you want a plug in or a theme or an integration with a payment partner, you'll always feel like the poor cousin if you opt for Xcart because chances are you wont have the same choice as Magento or Shopify customers due to a lack of partnerships done by Xcart.

So, in summary, I do find it to be a really good piece of software. Well thought out, reliable, powerful and flexible. However, I wouldn't recommend it whole heartedly to someone because it's competitors are much more integrated and there's a much, much bigger community of developers out there for the 'big boys'.

Best Cart I've Used To Date!

X-Cart Gold Plus has got to be one of the best fully featured and well supported carts I've used to date. The cart is well supported by 3rd party with a great forum and ticket support through their support site.

I've tried a number of open source carts, cloud hosted and have worked on other carts used by my clients and none seem to have the support, help and forum infrastructure that X-Cart has.

I've found the staff professional, helpful and reasonably prompt at answering my queries and issues. Major holidays and updates excluded.

Caveat... This is not an easy cart to set up and is particular about the server requirements. Make absolutely sure your hosting company will support the requirements. We build our own servers to meet the requirements, so hosting for our clients is not an issue.

Would I recommend X-Cart? Yes! Would I purchase more licenses? Yes!

Great Product & Service

I have been working with the X-Cart team to get my site live for the past three months. They are knowledgeable, have a great turn around time, and are easy to work with - despite being on opposite time zones.

I would recommend X-Cart to anyone who is looking to have a user friendly front and backend for their ecommerce store. Tons of skins to use, and modules to customize your site with!

Superior Product & Service

I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend the X-cart. It is so powerful, so versatile and once you get the hang of it, you're off and going like crazy filling it in. If I have ever had a question, the techs are right there to help. I truly feel you could not find a more superior product anywhere. Run, don't walk, and get the X-cart and be sure to check out the modules to see which ones you can't live without. I did and picked up a few. I'm about to launch and can't wait to see what my customers say.

X-cart Rocks!

I switched my website to X-Cart which gives me so much more control on the back end than my previous website. I recommend it for an e-commerce shopping cart website. It has so many features I have yet to still learn! I like the fact it comes with Mail Chimp to send out newsletters. I do wish there was a direct link for the USPS without having to their website directly for shipping transactions. Overall, it's great!

Terrific Customer Support

I've found the support services for X-Cart to be exceptional. I was originally worried, knowing that the team is half a world away from me, but it's not been a problem. Their hours are so extensive that there is really only a short portion of the day I'm not able to get answers to my questions - and they assign and answer my questions quickly and thoroughly. They seem to be always accessible. I've been happily paying for their technical support programs now that the site is up and running, because the service they provide is more cost effective than hiring someone to troubleshoot my site.
