Consumers at Halfords rated the TomTom Start a 4.5 star out of 5, as many of them found that this device got them to the right destinations, regardless of whether it was a long or short journey. The TomTom Start was able to recalculate different routes, even when consumers decided to change it mid way. However one of the best things about the TomTom Start is that almost all consumers found it easy to set up and use.

The TomTom Start does have a small screen, but many consumers do find it adequate for their needs. However it should be noted that consumers did find that the sucker to stick the TomTom to the windscreen could be improved as it sometimes falls off. Despite this many consumers at pocket-lint thought this is a very good product, slightly more expensive compared to other similar products, but they believed you paid for the reliability factor. A consumer did point out that with this TomTom you don't get the option to choose between faster or shorter routes, motorways or national roads, which could be a problem if you were trying to avoid the motorway.
