Beazer Homes
Sunset Landing in South Carolina. My wife and I settled on this particular location and a building plan, and so contracted with Beazer early August of 2021. While we did not order anything like imported marble from Italy, we selected some luxury vinyl flooring instead of carpet through out the home,
some different color panels for the kitchen island and quartz counter tops for the kitchen. All of these items and other aspects of the home had to be decided/selected in two weeks after signing the contract. After two weeks, the options etc were ’locked in’ and (maybe) ordered at that time. We are now looking at 9 months at least before we close on the house and move. I can’t begin to count how many times I have heard “waiting on an electrical inspection” or “we are waiting for (fill in the item here)”
Have I seen other homes started and completed during this time frame in multiple states? You bet, despite the related COVID delays etc.
Interest rates have more than doubled since the signing which will effect our mortgage payment significantly, not to mention the selling of our current home.
The agent on site has been hospitable and pleasant. I can’t speak to the quality of the build as I have not moved in, but would I recommend Beazer Homes? Sadly, probably not.
