“Great for Bargains”

Written on: 07/12/2012

Great store if you want to buy numerous items at the best prices going.
You just need to know how to shop there. Firstly decide what it is you want to buy. Check it is in stock at your nearest store (reserve and collect feature is useful for this but not always 100% accurate). Check the prices online to compare prices of exact same item(s) with exact required size, colour and specifications that are in stock in other stores and cheaper (after you have considered the £5 card and transport costs). Go into the store and try the item on or view it, and inspect the fit and quality etc.
If you're happy with it take it to the till and ask for a price match with the offer you found on line. Ask them match the offer, and if the exact same item is in stock in by any other Uk retailer for less they will match it and take an extra 10% off.
Some great savings to be had if you are prepared to do a bit of research first.
Online orders offer the same deal but as with lots of online purchases they are never always as straight forward.
Found staff to be helpful but sometimes seem a little perturbed at the huge savings I have made uing this price match :-)
Beware of some of the offers and specials that offer 10% off all lines this weekend etc. as this is off the original RRP of the item and not the discount card price. Not sure how this works as a store card once purchased guarantees at least 10% off and strangely can work out more expensive!
Using this i have saved hundreds of pounds against the most competetive prices around.
One concern I do have however is that small independent retailers can not compete on price. Even if they cut their margins to the minimum to compete GoOutdoors beats that by an additional 10%. This means those smaller stores can't really compete against the huge buying power of a large company. It could be a case of bigger companies taking over and putting small buisneses out of buisness. Guess it is down to us to make that choice and consider the implications.
